"he needs to get out of Bolton where his family are so close."
Boxer Amir Khan looks all set to move out of his hometown of Bolton in an attempt to save his marriage.
He and model Faryal Makhdoom got married in 2013 and have survived a string of affairs by Khan.
The couple briefly split following a bitter and public spat with Khan’s family who accused her of being a bad mother. Khan had also claimed she cheated on him with Anthony Joshua.
Khan put up his £1.2 million mansion in Bolton for sale in 2018 and moved into a renovated bungalow in order to get his marriage back on track.
The former world champion is now house-hunting in Ascot, Berkshire, and has told friends that he needs to move away from his family who live nearby in Bolton.
According to his friends, the realisation came after Faryal supported him in New York for his unsuccessful title fight against Terence Crawford.
According to The Sun, one of Khan’s friends said:
“Amir knows he has to grow up and the quality time he spent in New York for the Crawford fight with Faryal, without his family who have been with him on every step of his boxing career.
“He wants to make his marriage work and knows in order to do that, he needs to get out of Bolton where his family are so close.
“His family have been there for his whole career but he’s 32-years-old now and thinks its time to leave the nest.”
In 2018, Khan and Faryal moved out of his mansion, which is next door to his parent’s house. They moved into a four-bedroom bungalow and spent £250,000 renovating it.
They had an indoor swimming pool and a man cave built. A nursery was also built for their daughters Lamaisah, aged five, and Alayna, aged one.
The reunion came after a public argument in which Faryal was called a “gold digger” and wrongly accused of having an affair with Anthony Joshua.
Faryal fired back, accusing her husband of being a “bad role model” and “bad around women”.
In 2016, Khan’s father Sajjad called his daughter-in-law a “bad mother” for leaving her young daughter in New York while going with Khan for a training camp.
The boxer’s family have also slammed her looks, calling her “Michael Jackson”.
Their six-year marriage has been tested by Khan’s cheating and womanising. It was reported that he cheated with a beautician in April 2018, 17 days after the birth of his second child.
The Bolton-born boxer has also been accused of sending sordid messages to women online.
Khan later admitted that he had “made mistakes” and promised to fix his marriage.
