Aishwarya Rai is ‘Superwoman’ says hubby Abhishek Bachchan

Abhishek Bachchan praises wife Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, describing her as a ‘Superwoman.’ Abhishek also reveals why he fell in love with her and lots more.


“I have immense respect for her as an actor; I think she’s wonderful at what she does.”

Bollywood actor Abhishek Bachchan has praised wife Aishwarya Rai Bachchan during the 2018 India Today Conclave East event.

Describing Aishwarya as a ‘Superwoman,’ Abhishek also revealed reasons why he fell in love with her amongst many other things.

Abhishek and Aishwarya are one of Bollywood’s most-loved couples. The two have been married for 11 years and are parents to daughter Aaradhya Bachchan.

They have featured in many films together including Umrao Jaan (2006)Dhoom 2 (2006), Guru and  (2007) and Raavan (2010).

Speaking at the India Today Conclave 2018, Junior Bachchan was all praise for Aishwarya:

“She’s superwoman. She’s unbelievably dedicated to whatever she does, and she’s always been like that.”

Abhishek continued: “She’s very focused about what she does as a professional and as a mother and as a daughter, as a daughter in law, as a wife, she’s 100% in everything, I don’t know how she manages it.”

The two first starred in Dhaai Akshar Prem Ke, which released in 2000. This was followed by Kuch Naa Kaho which was released 3 years later in 2003.

On Aishwarya’s talent as an actress, Abhishek explained: “I have immense respect for her as an actor. I think she’s wonderful at what she does.”

The Dostana star also shared how the two went from being good friends to getting more closer, before leading to marriage:

“We always had a close friendship and in time, it evolved into something more than that.

“I think it was during Umrao Jaan, that’s when things took a more serious turn, and then I proposed to her and we were married. Now we are parents to a beautiful daughter, Aaradhya.”

Talking about there love story, he earlier told the Hindustan times:

“I’ve never asked who fell in love first, actually. I’ll have to ask her that. But the moment we got together we knew this was it.”

Aishwarya, also present at that interview said:

“It’s not like we said ‘One minute, let the relationship marinate, we want time to get to know each other’.”

The couple acknowledged during nine years of marriage they had learnt a lot from each other.

Abhishek had also shared his appreciation for his wife by posting a picture on his Instagram story of Aishwarya walking the ramp for Manish Malhotra’s fashion show in Doha.

Aishwariya was there with her daughter who didn’t mind posing for the photos alongside her mum.

The popular star couple will be reuniting on the big screen in Anurag Kashyap’s Gulab Jamun.

Abhishek could not hold up his excitement of working with Aishwarya again when talking to the Hindustan Times:

“She has always brought out the best in me. “I am excited to get in front of the camera with her once again.”

The two were last seen in Mani Ratnam’s Raavan, which released more than 8 years ago in 2010.

Abhishek’s latest movie Manmarziyaan which released in September 2018, saw him grace the big screen once again, having not been in a movie for 2 years.

Directed by Anurag Kashyap, the film also starred Taapsee Pannu and Vicky Kaushal.

Manmarziyaan featured a love-triangle between Abhishek, Taapsee and Vicky.

Aishwarya - Raj

Aishwarya was last seen in musical-drama Fanney Khan (2018) alongside Anil Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao.

The former Miss World played the role of ‘Baby Singh,’ a singer and performer who is a love interest for Rajkummar Rao’s character.

Aishwarya has also been rumoured to be doing a cameo in Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar’s 2.0which will be releasing in November 2018.

2.0 is a successor to Rajinikanth’s 2010 film Enthiran which featured Aishwarya also.

With hubby Abhishek Bachchan praising wife Aishwarya Rai Bachan, it seems everything is going well for them, both on a personal and professional level. May it continue!
