Afran Nisho has made a dramatic return to the Bangladeshi film industry after a long hiatus, revealing his much-anticipated film Daagi.

The project is slated for a release on Eid-ul-Fitr in 2025.

The announcement, which came on Afran’s birthday, December 8, 2024, was made in a cinematic way.

In the official announcement video, Afran Nisho made a striking entrance, stepping out of a helicopter with his signature tied-up hair.

The video, shared on Chorki’s Facebook page, stirred excitement across social media.

It confirmed the actor’s return after being away from the limelight for over a year and a half.

The film, produced by SVF, Alpha i Entertainment Limited, and Chorki, has already generated a buzz.

The announcement video not only unveiled Afran Nisho’s return but also introduced the film’s stars, Tama Mirza and Sunerah Binte Kamal.

Directed by Shihab Shaheen, Daagi is described as a story-driven film with a unique narrative centred on themes of redemption and forgiveness.

Shihab Shaheen emphasised that the story itself is the true hero of the film.

He believed it would offer the audience something fresh and different from what they’d seen before in local cinema.

Highlighting his dedication to the project, he shared:

“I’ve been working on this script for the past two years.”

Tama Mirza, who has also been absent from the big screen for over a year, expressed her excitement about returning to acting.

While she turned down several film offers during her break, she felt compelled to join Daagi because of the enthralling story.

The actress said: “For me, the story and the director are what matter most.”

Afran Nisho explained that he was drawn to Daagi because it offered a narrative that broke away from the usual film formulas.

He indicated that the film’s unique storyline was a major factor in his decision to take on the project.

Afran Nisho said:

“I always strive to work on films where the story plays a significant role.”

Fans, who have been eagerly awaiting his return, can expect a film that not only showcases his talent but also delivers a fresh narrative.

As excitement builds for Daagi, Afran Nisho’s comeback is becoming one of the most anticipated events in the Bangladeshi film industry in 2025.
