Nisho embodies the mysterious figure Aka

The trailer of Hoichoi’s upcoming original series AKA premiered on August 25, 2025, stirring immediate public anticipation.

Audiences were drawn into the teaser’s opening line, which chillingly declared how Aka hunted criminals during 1998 and 1999.

The two-minute glimpse promised an intense ride of vengeance and intrigue, hinting at blurred lines between justice and personal morality.

Directed by Vicky Zahed, the thriller is scheduled to premiere on September 4, 2025, exclusively streaming on Hoichoi.

Zahed revealed that while he has crafted thrillers before, this project experiments with both unconventional structure and layered storytelling.

At the centre of the series is Afran Nisho, making a much-awaited return to the OTT screen after three years.

Nisho embodies the mysterious figure Aka, a man of shifting shades who already has fans debating his morality.

The actor explained that compelling storytelling is his priority, regardless of platform, and praised Zahed’s direction as truly masterful.

He encouraged audiences to watch the series with open expectations and to share honest reactions once it officially premieres.

Masuma Nabila stars as Megha, a woman portrayed as both fearless and vulnerable, fighting continuously against systemic injustice.

Nabila expressed admiration for Zahed’s acclaimed work in the psycho-thriller genre, voicing her pride in being part of AKA.

She added that the series has already received praise for its trailer and hopes audiences appreciate the cast’s collective efforts.

Another major role is played by Imtiaz Barshon, who also voiced gratitude for Hoichoi’s consistent experimental storytelling.

Barshon highlighted Zahed’s distinct creative signature, explaining that AKA offered him the opportunity to contribute to an ambitious collaborative vision.

The ensemble cast also includes Jayanta Chattopadhyay, Azizul Hakim, AK Azad Setu, Shahed Ali, Tazji Hasan, and Syamonty Shoumi.

Hoichoi previously revealed half-look posters of Nisho in two contrasting avatars, sparking speculation about his dual moral identity.

One poster showed him wearing a cap with innocence in his eyes, while another displayed menace with unrestrained hair.

Alongside the posters, Hoichoi wrote in the caption:

“Who’s coming? The hero or the villain? The protector or the predator?”

With suspenseful tension, psychological depth, and strong performances, AKA promises to be a layered thriller extending beyond conventional entertainment.

As September 4, 2025, approaches, viewers now await to witness Afran Nisho’s comeback and Zahed’s daring storytelling unfold onscreen with intensity.
