“I’m confident the audience will find it deeply engaging."

Afran Nisho has once again captured the public’s attention with a striking promotional appearance for his upcoming film Daagi.

Nisho was dressed in a prisoner’s uniform, numbered ‘786’, handcuffed and escorted by two men dressed as police officers.

The dramatic scene was staged in public, causing a stir among onlookers.

They couldn’t help but shout “Oii Daagi!” as Nisho made his way through the area.

This stunt has sparked a surge of speculation about his character in the film, leaving fans eager for more details.

Daagi, Nisho’s second film after his breakout role in Surongo, has already generated significant buzz.

In Surongo, he starred opposite Tama Mirza, and now the two are reunited for Daagi.

Alongside them, the film features Sunerah Binte Kamal and Rashed Mamun Apu in key roles, promising an exciting mix of talent.

Production for the film began in December 2024, and Nisho expressed his enthusiasm for the project, saying:

“I always aim for films that push the boundaries of conventional storytelling.

“In Daagi, the narrative itself plays a pivotal role, which is what intrigued me.

“I’m confident the audience will find it deeply engaging.”

As the film’s promotional campaign gains momentum, Daagi is being positioned as one of the most anticipated releases for Eid-ul-Fitr.

The prisoner stunt only adds to the intrigue surrounding the story, with fans eagerly awaiting the film’s release.

To further excite audiences, Nisho also previously surprised fans by lending his voice to the title track of Daagi.

This marks his first-ever playback performance in a film.

The track, released recently, features lyrics by Rasel Mahmud and music composed by Arafat Mohsin Nidhi, with Nisho singing certain parts himself.

Nisho shared that the idea for him to sing came from producer Shahriar Shakil.

He recalled: “Producers played me the demo one day and asked what I thought of it. I found it catchy and powerful.

“Later, I was told, ‘What if you sang it?’ It took me by surprise.”

The song, written from the perspective of an outcast, aligns with the film’s central theme.

The tone is rebellious, and lyricist Rasel Mahmud drew inspiration from the works of Kazi Nazrul Islam.

Directed by Shihab Shaheen, Daagi has received a universal censor certificate.

Filming took place in various locations, including Saidpur, Rajshahi, and Dhaka.

The ensemble cast includes Shahiduzzaman Selim, Gazi Rakayet, Mili Basher, Rashed Mamun Apu, and AK Azad Setu.

With its bold premise, stirring music, and star-studded cast, Daagi is one of the most eagerly awaited films of 2025.
