"It’s not just another film; it’s a commitment."
Afran Nisho has officially joined the cast of Domm, the upcoming film by acclaimed director Redoan Rony. The movie is set for an Eid-ul-Fitr 2026 release.
Backed by SVF Alpha-i Entertainment Limited and Chorki, Domm promises to be a large-scale production rooted in true events.
Rony described Domm as a story about “the power of a common man”, a narrative he has been wanting to bring to life for years.
Afran Nisho, fresh off critically praised films like Surongo and Daagi, is stepping into a demanding role in this survival-themed drama.
He said that the script felt unique and deeply performance-driven, noting that stories like this are his personal favourites.
Nisho said: “Each layer of the character presents a challenge. That’s what drew me in. It’s not just another film; it’s a commitment.”
Despite both being veterans in the media scene, this is the first time Nisho and Rony are collaborating on a film project.
Rony, who made his directorial debut with the National Award-winning Chorabali, is returning to the director’s chair after years of running Chorki.
His track record on television includes popular titles like Housefull, FNF, and Pata Jhorar Din, making his cinematic comeback highly anticipated.
The film’s casting was first announced in December 2023, with Chanchal Chowdhury confirmed to play a key role.
Rumours that Chowdhury had exited the film surfaced recently but were quickly put to rest by Rony.
He clarified that both Chanchal Chowdhury and Afran Nisho will appear in Domm.
Chowdhury expressed excitement at reuniting with familiar colleagues, saying the story is something unlike anything attempted before.
Calling it both challenging and emotionally rich, he said Domm offers a rare chance to play a character he feels deeply connected to.
The announcement has stirred curiosity on social media, particularly around the female lead and location choices.
Rony shared that pre-production is in full swing and casting is being finalised. He promised updates soon to satisfy the audience’s excitement.
Shahriar Shakil of SVF Alpha-i Entertainment stated that Domm will match, if not exceed, audience expectations set by previous films like Toofan and Taandob.
Calling it a “big-budget film” led by strong storytelling and character work, he said he’s optimistic about the impact it will have.
With Redoan Rony back in the director’s seat and two powerhouse actors on board, Domm is already shaping up to be a cinematic event.
