Karan, Pritam and Amitabh have resulted in this outstanding achievement
The musical soundtrack to Bollywood hit, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil is the first Indian album to be streamed over one billion times.
Music partner, Sony Music says the album passing the one billion mark makes it the most listened to soundtrack in Indian music history.
The hit film Ae Dil Hai Mushkil first released in cinemas in October 2016. Since its movie release, the film’s songs have continued to dominate the charts.
Within just 48 hours of its launch, the title track ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ reached one million streams on Saavn.
Saavn is India’s Apple Music rival first founded in 2007. It distributes English, Bollywood and regional Indian music across 200 countries.
Four tracks from ADHM’s album also feature in the top ten of Apple Music “Best of 2016” playlist for the country.
Composed by musical director, Pritam, ADHM’s album hit over on 4.1 million views on YouTube.
Also, three of the songs from ADHM’s album reached 100 million streams. Ae Dil Hai Mushkil is the only film to have three songs pass the 100 million mark.
As well as the title track, other much-loved songs from the ADHM album include ‘Bulleya’, ‘Channa Mereya’ and ‘The Breakup Song’.
Dharma Productions marketing director, Sanujeet Bhujabal, says: “This is phenomenal, we couldn’t have asked for more.
