“Sonakshi and I laughed after reading the dating rumours."
Rumours surrounding Bollywood actor Zaheer Iqbal and Sonakshi Sinha dating have been going around for some time and came as a shock to many but now Zaheer has set the record straight.
Zaheer Iqbal is the son of Salman Khan’s friend and made his Bollywood debut with the 2019 film Notebook alongside Pranutan Bahl.
Both of the actors were praised for their amazing on-screen performances.
Since then, Pranutan Bahl has gone on to sign for the film Helmet (2020) opposite Aparshakti Khurana, while Zaheer’s next film is yet to be confirmed.
However, this has not stopped news of the actor circulating the internet. This time, concerning his personal like.
Zaheer Iqbal was linked to Bollywood actress Sonakshi Sinha. This news certainly shocked many of their fans.
However, recently Zaheer cleared the speculations with an interaction with ETimes.
The actor revealed how he and Sonakshi laughed about the rumours when they first circulated. He said:
“Sonakshi and I laughed after reading the dating rumours. It was my first rumour so I didn’t know how to react on it. People have seen all of us.”
Zaheer continued to mention how he thinks the rumours came to surface. He said:
“Sonakshi and I chill together and someone must have seen that and might have started the rumour. Well, I’m sure that’s how it started.”
Zaheer Iqbal recalled the day they were made aware of the rumours. He explained:
“On the day this happened, we messaged each other because we got a notification on Google Alerts. Do you know what the mess up was?
“I was dating someone no one knew. It became a bit awkward between us as Sonakish knew who I was dating then!”
Zaheer Iqbal further added that his previous relationship was not with Sonakshi Sinha and he is currently single.
Alongside the dating rumours, it was speculated that Zaheer is set to feature in Salman Khan’s film, Kabhi Eid Kabhi Diwali (2021) helmed by Sajid Nadiadwala. However, the actor neither confirmed nor denied the claims. He said:
“It could be, it’s possible. Anything can happen. I don’t know! If it happens, I will be very happy.”
If the rumours are, in fact, true then Kabhi Eid Kabhi Diwali (2021) will also star Zaheer Iqbal, Pulkit Samrat and Sooraj Pancholi.
The film is expected to be one of Sajid Nadiadwala’s big releases. However, due to the coronavirus lockdown production for the film has been postponed.
Despite the dating rumours concerning Zaheer and Sonakshi turning out to be false, we wait to see whether the film speculations are true.
