"Sunil was definitely on a Sony TV set, like many have reported."
The rumour mill surrounding Sunil Grover continues to grow as reports claim he will make a return to television. The star supposedly did some filming for Indian Idol on Wednesday 29th March 2017.
The claims, appearing on Spotboye.com also suggested that Grover would dress up as two of his most famous characters, Dr Mashoor Gulati and Rinku Bhabhi. Therefore, it appears that Grover will return to TV.
If fans of Sunil Grover needed more reassurance, a source told Mid-Day: “Sunil was definitely on a Sony TV set, like many have reported. However, it was for the shoot of an Indian Idol episode. He is still under contract with the channel.”
The source does make a good point; as Grove has a contract with Sony, it’s no surprise that he will appear on Indian Idol, a Sony show.
Yet, his recent comments about television performances have done much to create doubt. Sunil Grover had recently spoken out about rumours of him filming a new episode of The Kapil Sharma Show.
He claimed: “It’s all a lie.” The television personality also added: “At present, I am focusing on live shows and nothing else. I am also not talking to any other channel.”
To further add to the confusion, Sunil Grover posted a tweet on 27th March 2017 to explain his thought process:

All of this follows on from an incident where Kapil Sharma hit Sunil Grover with a shoe aboard a flight from Melbourne to Delhi. Following this incident, Sharma tweeted an apology to Grover, who remained silent for a time, but then tweeted his own response.
The rumour mill has become fully operational once more. Will Sunil Grover appear on Indian Idol? Will this be a full time role?
As of yet Sunil Grover has yet to comment on this most recent rumour. He only focused on promoting his live tour, called Dr Mashoor Gulati’s Comedy Clinics on Facebook.
But hopefully the star will respond soon.
