"Kapil got up, took off his shoe, and hit Sunil."
The Kapil Sharma Show reportedly risks losing its contract with Sony. It comes as the latest crisis for Kapil Sharma after he reportedly hit co-star Sunil Grover with a show.
The incident took place on Friday 17th March 2017. However, almost a week later, the effects still remain.
On Wednesday 22nd March 2017, the show cancelled its recording as Sunil Grover and others left the show. And now, recent reports say The Kapil Sharma show could also even become cancelled!
In April 2017, Sony will need to decide whether to renew the programme. With stars such as Sunil Grover and Chandan Prabhakar walking out, they may think twice.
A source said: “Kapil has had to cancel shoots as he couldn’t get big celebs as guests. He has, in fact, left for Bikaner to shoot for his film, Firangi, and will return to Mumbai on March 29.”
The claimed incident took place on a flight from Melbourne to Delhi on 17th March 2017, where a row emerged between the two stars of The Kapil Sharma Show. An anonymous source revealed how Kapil Sharma drank a whole bottle of whisky.
Flight staff served the rest of the show’s team food, prompting a now-drunk Kapil to kick off. He yelled at his crew for eating dinner before him and also berated members of the cabin crew also. Sunil Grover began to calm his co-star down.
However, the source added: “Kapil got up, took off his shoe, and hit Sunil.”
After the flight landed, Kapil Sharma denied the incident on social media. However, on 20th March 2017, he tweeted an apology to Sunil Grover. But Sunil appeared to reject the apology on 21st March 2017

As a result, on Wednesday 22nd March 2017, The Kapil Sharma show cancelled its scheduled shooting. Sunil Grover and fellow actors Ali Asgar, Chandan Prabhakar and Sugandha Mishra were not present.
Producers claim they did not need the stars. Yet Asgar, Prabhakar and Mishra claim they left in support of Grover.
A source also told the Indian Express about how desperate things were getting:
“The situation right now is such that we are stuck. People are trying to convince him (Sunil). Kapil has been talking to him. People are discussing with each other what can be done about this.”
It seems that Kapil Sharma might have gone one step too far. The cancellation of shooting and the speculated show cancellation spell trouble ahead.
Hopefully, he and Grover can sort things out. Watch this space!
