"I slapped her across the face just like I do in films"

Saba Faisal and her daughter Sadia Faisal appeared on Subah Ka Samaa Madeha K Saath.

Madeha Naqvi asked Saba and Sadia about the latter’s childhood.

Madeha asked Sadia: “Tell me about the kind of strictness there was.”

Sadia responded: “There was never any strictness.”

Saba interjected: “This was because Sadia has always been very caring. Sadia was smart from the very beginning. I don’t think I ever found the need to scold her.

“There is one instance I recall. Sadia and her brothers used to be in one room and I used to be in the other.

“I used to sneak up on them in their rooms to check in case they were using phones.”

Saba further shared that one night, she got up to use the bathroom and noticed that the cordless phone was missing.

She then went to her children’s room, where she found them all asleep, but her daughter Sadia was not there.

Instead, a pillow had been placed in her bed, indicating that she was missing.

Saba continued: “Sadia was in the bathroom and I heard the tap running. I knocked on the door. Sadia said ‘Jee Amma’. I asked her to open the door.

“She opened the door and I asked where the cordless phone was.

“Sadia hesitated and I slapped her across the face just like I do in films and dramas.

“I asked her where the phone was again and she said that it was on the cupboard in the bathroom.

“She was in college at that time and she was talking to her classmate, now husband, Faisal. That was the only slap she ever received.”

Viewers were thrilled to see this side of Saba Faisal.

A user wrote: “Saba is such a typical brown mom. As she should be.”

Another added:

“I praise Saba for raising such polite children despite being a working mother.”

One said: “I can imagine what that slap must have looked like. I have seen it on TV countless times.”

Another commented: “Saba Faisal has always given me a strict mom vibe like my own mother.”

One stated: “Her strictness is the reason her children are so well-mannered.”

Another said: “It is clear that with strictness, there is also a lot of love from Saba for her children.”
