Who is Amitabh Bachchan’s Businessman Brother Ajitabh?

At the premiere of The Archies, Amitabh Bachchan’s businessman brother Ajitabh made a rare public appearance.

The entire Bachchan family had attended the premiere, which marks Agastya Nanda’s debut film.

Among them was Ajitabh Bachchan, who is five years younger than his legendary brother.

Unlike the Bollywood icon, Ajitabh mostly keeps away from the limelight.

Although fans know that Amitabh has a brother, who he is and what he does is more obscure.

While Amitabh is one of the most famous names in Bollywood, his brother’s interests took him on a business path.

One thing the brothers have in common is that they both attended Sherwood College in Nainital, Uttarakhand.

After completing his education, Ajitabh worked in India for a few years before establishing himself as a reputable entrepreneur in London.

It is reported that Ajitabh holds directorial positions in Qa Hydrocarbons Private Limited, Asn Hydrocarbons Private Limited, and Asn Innovative Private Limited.

Ajitabh’s business acumen has resulted in him having a respectable net worth of Rs. 166 Crore (£15.8 million).

In comparison, Amitabh’s net worth is more than Rs. 3,000 Crore (£286 million).

When it comes to his personal life, Ajitabh is married to Ramola, a marriage rumoured to have been facilitated by Big B.

It is believed that when Amitabh was working as a shipping executive in Kolkata, he was friends with Ramola.

Ramola said: “It was pure friendship. This was in the 1960s before he had thought of joining the films.

“I think he had a secret yearning for films, but it was not prominent then.”

She then met Ajitabh. They bonded well and ended up getting married.

Ajitabh and Ramola have four children – Bhim, an investment banker; Nilima, an aeronautical engineer; Namrata, a photographer and poet; and Naina, a banker-turned-artist.

After returning to Delhi to work as an actress, Naina met Kunal Kapoor. The pair got married in 2015.

Ramola Bachchan is a successful businesswoman in her own right, working in the fashion industry.

In addition to being a fashion designer, she has also hosted prestigious events such as the Runway Bridal Exhibition and Runway Rising.

She owns the event management company Ramola Bachchan Concepts and a fashion label called First Resort.

Ramola has also designed costumes for Bollywood films such as Don.

In an episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati 15, Amitabh credited his brother for his entry into films.

Amitabh recalled: “I have a younger brother too, with a five-six year age gap… Most importantly, he’s the reason behind my entry into films.

“My brother was the first to tell me you must work in films. I was working in Kolkata. He clicked my pictures with great poses and sent them [to a contest].

“However, I got rejected. But he was the one who planted that thought into my head. And I quit my job to do this.”
