Amitabh Bachchan has revealed that he suffered a left knee injury after slipping and falling during a recent shoot for Kaun Banega Crorepati 18.

The veteran actor and host addressed viewers directly on the quiz show, explaining why he had made an adjustment to his signature opening.

Rather than standing at the centre of the stage as he traditionally does, Bachchan chose to deliver his opening monologue while seated at the podium.

He explained the reason for the change directly to the studio audience, pointing to his left knee as he detailed the sequence of events.

Bachchan said: “Yesterday while shooting, I slipped and fell, which hurt my left knee.

“Standing up feels a bit uncomfortable right now, which is why I am sitting here today.”

He was quick to reassure both those present in the studio and the millions of fans watching at home that the situation was not cause for alarm.

He added: “It is a minor injury and nothing to worry about. The work will continue as scheduled.”

Bachchan further clarified that he planned to stand up to greet and interact with contestants during the main gameplay segments.

He said he would take brief rests between takes, managing the discomfort in a way that would allow the show to proceed as normally as possible.

The host also confirmed that his medical treatment was being handled directly on set and that all his professional commitments remained fully on track.

His characteristic composure and dedication in continuing to work through the injury have drawn admiration from fans who follow his every public appearance.

Kaun Banega Crorepati 18 continues its regular broadcast on Sony Entertainment Television and also streams digitally on SonyLIV across India.

The show has been one of Indian television’s most enduring and beloved properties.

Bachchan’s presence remains inseparable from the show’s identity.

Beyond his television commitments, the actor has a major cinematic project in the pipeline that fans across India have been eagerly anticipating.

He will next be seen in director Nag Ashwin’s highly anticipated sequel to the blockbuster sci-fi epic Kalki 2898 AD.

Bachchan portrays the immortal Mahabharata warrior Ashwatthama in the franchise.

The first instalment secured top honours in the Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment and Best Special Effects categories at the 72nd National Film Awards.

The sequel is among the most eagerly anticipated Indian film projects currently in production, and Amitabh Bachchan’s involvement is a big source of fan excitement.
