"We are delighted to bring it to our international users."
Vivo has followed up their launch of the NEX and NEX S in China by now bringing the Vivo NEX to India.
The Vivo NEX smartphone is reportedly a big step for the company as it will take their current portfolio and transport it to international markets.
Some of the best features that Vivo can boast about with this phone is its huge screen-to-body ratio!
As well as this, an unusual pop-up front-facing camera has been added.
We also check out all of the more techy features that the Vivo NEX possesses such as a 4,000mAh battery and Funtouch OS 4 software.
We guide you through everything you could possibly want to know about the Vivo NEX.
Bezel-Less Smartphone
Looking at the outside of the phone, the back is certainly eye-catching. When held at a certain angle the phone reflects a rainbow pattern that gives it a stylish feel.
You can see the dual camera in the top left corner featuring a flash option. Overall, we really like the back of the Vivo NEX.
Key elements of the smartphone include its almost notch-less and bezel-less display, and the front of the smartphone is all about the massive screen.
Leading the industry on screen size, the NEX has a 91.24% screen-to-body ratio!
In order to achieve the full edge-to-edge display without a notch on top, Vivo had to move the camera. The selfie camera was relocated from above the display to the top left.
Pop-Up Selfie Camera
The pop-up selfie camera in itself is an unusual feature, which we think is quite fun. The camera is fully motorised.
When the camera is down, it is completely hidden within the phone. The pop-up camera has an 8 MP sensor and is quite the innovative feature.
With so much focus on the selfies we take, this feature might just catch on, especially if allows for a larger screen.
The one worry we do have is how breakable the little camera might be. If dropped, would the pop-up addition break off and go flying?
In-Display Fingerprint Scanner
Alongside the pop-up camera, Vivo can also boast a fingerprint scanner within the display.
This is a highly unusual feature, many smartphone-manufacturers either cannot or choose not to place their scanners directly on the screen.
It seems that Vivo has used some sort of futuristic technology to be able to place the scanner in-display.
The company adds that they have improved their fingerprint scanner to not only be quicker, but also more accurate.
