"I am interested in the CEO position"
A US Indian man has applied for the Twitter CEO job via a tweet addressed to Elon Musk.
Mr Musk recently conducted a poll asking users if he should step down as Twitter CEO.
The poll revealed that 57.5% wanted him to quit as the CEO of the social media platform.
According to reports, the billionaire said he will resign as Twitter’s chief executive officer when he finds someone “foolish enough to take the job”.
Now, US Indian engineer Shiva Ayyadurai – who claims to have invented email – has expressed his interest in the role.
In his tweet, he stated that he has four degrees from MIT and has created seven high-tech software companies.
Shiva signed off the tweet as the inventor of email.
He wrote: “Dear Mr Musk (@elonmusk):
“I am interested in the CEO position @Twitter. I have 4 degrees from MIT and have created 7 successful high-tech software companies. Kindly advise of the process to apply.

Shiva’s unique application for Twitter CEO led to a mixed response.
Responses ranged from encouraging to sarcastic.
One user wrote:
“I’ve observed that degrees is one of the last things @elonmusk looks at when hiring. (Though you’re education creds are indeed formidable.)”
Another said: “Best of luck to you. I’d expect your application to be rejected because you mention your education.”
Some trolled Shiva, with some mocking him for publicly sharing his phone number.
Shiva was born in Mumbai and grew up in a village in Tamil Nadu before moving to the United States.
He holds four degrees from MIT. These include an undergraduate degree in electrical engineering and computer science; a master’s degree in visual studies from the MIT Media Laboratory on scientific visualisation; a master’s degree in mechanical engineering and a PhD in biological engineering.
Shiva also claims to have invented email as a teenager in the late 1970s.
It is a widely disputed story as it is believed that email was invented by a computer engineer named Ray Tomlinson who was working on an early version of the internet in 1971.
An anti-vaccine activist, Shiva has also become known for promoting conspiracy theories, pseudoscience and unfounded medical claims.
In another tweet, Shiva thanked Mr Musk for his support.

Sharing a clip of The Henry Ford’s Innovation Nation, Shiva wrote:
