Hazard evolved from a talented prospect to a Prime Hero
The release of EA FC 25 is just around the corner and that means the return of popular game mode Ultimate Team.
Ultimate Team has long been a staple of the popular gaming franchise and it marks the second year female players will be in the game.
Ultimate Team Heroes also return, providing more opportunities for your custom teams.
In EA FC 25, each new Hero will be remembered for how they performed both domestically and continentally.
There are 12 new Heroes, with Yaya Toure serving as a returning Hero with new stats.
Like past editions, Heroes will feature a comic book-like card design, with an Origin version transforming into a Prime Version.
With EA FC 25 releasing on September 27, 2024, we look at the new Heroes in more detail.
Eden Hazard
Eden Hazard always knew his next move, tricking defenders on the pitch with his mazy dribbling and weaving his own path to greatness from Lille to London and beyond.
Every change of direction had a purpose, none greater than his choice to become a Blue.
While at Chelsea, Hazard evolved from a talented prospect to a Prime Hero and all the way to Premier League champion.
The Belgian carved through opponents and blazed his own trail to glory.
Although he is one of the most anticipated Heroes of EA FC 25, it can be argued that he would be better suited as an Icon, given the legacy Hazard left in the Premier League.
Jamie Carragher
Jamie Carragher was a constant force for Liverpool, making over 700 appearances for his boyhood club.
His career was defined by one of football’s most legendary comebacks, where a peak Carragher played a crucial role in helping the Reds overturn a 3-0 deficit to win the Champions League.
The iconic match was against a prime AC Milan that featured the likes of Paolo Maldini, Andrea Pirlo and Andriy Shevchenko.
An indelible Hero, fans can still picture Carragher’s silhouette commanding the pitch.
Jaap Stam
Feared by opponents and celebrated by fans, Jaap Stam bulldozed his way through the Dutch leagues, leaving a trail of battered strikers and trophy triumphs behind him.
However, it was in England that he truly earned the moniker “The Dutch Destroyer”.
A towering force in his prime, Stam battled his way to a historic treble with Manchester United.
This solidified his reputation as Europe’s most formidable, and feared, defender.
He then took his talents to Italy, where he once again proved his dominance.
Tim Howard
If the opposition couldn’t score, Tim Howard likely had something to do with it.
Renowned for his shot-stopping prowess, America’s top goalkeeper was relentless in his pursuit of greatness, testing himself in the Premier League early on for Manchester United.
But he found his stride in Everton blue and reached his peak in 2009, saving two penalties against his former club to propel the Toffees to a memorable FA Cup Final.
And like any legendary goalkeeper, Howard never looked back – a true Hero for both club and country.
Laura Georges
Always there, and everywhere.
That’s the paradox of Laura Georges, a player whose global journey forged her into an immovable force on the pitch.
Georges went from being a standout collegiate centre back in America to being the captain of Olympique Lyonnais and a UEFA Women’s Champions League winner.
She also represented the French national team 188 times.
Georges anchored her team with unwavering strength. A leader. A rock. A Hero.
Maicon
A player who has long been requested to become a Hero, EA FC 25 players will finally get their wish.
Maicon’s first superpower was transforming adversity into strength – a skinny boy from Brazil who trained relentlessly to become bigger, faster, and stronger.
His Inter Milan debut, marked by winning the Supercoppa Italiana, laid the groundwork for what was to come.
In just four years, the once little-known Maicon rose to become a dominant force in world football, leading his club to a historic treble as a truly colossal Prime Hero.
Guti
An underrated midfielder, Guti’s legacy will be honoured in EA FC 25.
Not every youth player finds a clear path to the first team, but Guti saw it all.
With unparalleled vision on the pitch, he rose through Real Madrid’s ranks, becoming a homegrown star with over 500 appearances for his beloved club.
His Prime was defined by pinpoint passes and a haul of trophies, including an iconic treble in 2011.
While few could match his view of the game, everyone who watched him play recognised him for what he was – a true Hero.
Fara Williams
Fara Williams was born to make a difference and was destined for greatness.
From humble beginnings, she forged a path to Hero status, elevating her teammates, her nation, and the entire women’s game along the way.
As Everton’s captain and one of England’s most cherished players, Fara commanded the midfield and scored with ease.
Her Prime was marked by numerous individual accolades – and even an MBE from the Queen.
But what truly mattered to her was the impact she had on her community, earning her the rightful title of “Queen Fara”, a Hero through and through.
Ze Roberto
Ze Roberto was a live wire on the pitch, electrifying opponents with his explosive skill and unpredictability.
All he needed was the right stage to ignite his hero’s journey, and Bayer Leverkusen provided just that.
In his Prime, he propelled the club to the top of German football and even to a UEFA Champions League final in 2002.
It was there that he honed the ability to light up any match, in any league, at any level. It was there that Ze Roberto became a Hero.
Celia Sasic
Celia Sasic was extraordinary, with an almost superhuman ability to spot opportunities anywhere on the pitch.
Her remarkable awareness and instinctive finishing transformed even the smallest chances into goals.
In her Prime, she converted those goals into golden boots, two European Championships, and UEFA Women’s Champions League triumphs.
Her decisive goal in the final delivered an unforgettable UWCL title for her beloved Frankfurt and secured her place in the hearts of fans forever as a true Hero.
Marek Hamsik
Marek Hamsik’s mohawk was as iconic as his midfield game.
Spending 10 years at Napoli, he went from “he’ll never make it” to “history maker”.
At every turn, Hamsik transformed adversity into strength, silencing doubters by rising to club captain and avenging past setbacks by winning the Italian Supercup in his Prime.
“Marekiaro” arrived at Napoli as a young prospect and departed as the club’s then-record goal-scorer, record appearance-maker, and a true hero in the eyes of the fans.
Mohammed Noor
Control was Mohammed Noor’s defining trait and ‘superpower’, propelling him to become one of Asia’s most electrifying players.
He first mastered ball control, dribbling his way to multiple league titles.
Next, he honed his skill in outmanoeuvring opponents, effortlessly shifting defenders with a subtle drop of his shoulder.
In his Prime, Noor’s exceptional performances guided Al Ittihad to continental glory, establishing him as a Hero who truly commanded the game.
Blaise Matuidi
Even if you could read the game like Blaise Matuidi, you’d still struggle to keep up.
The relentless midfielder anticipated danger before anyone else, intercepting attacks and reclaiming possession with remarkable agility.
A multiple league champion and the 2018 World Cup winner, Matuidi would spread his arms wide in celebration after scoring, giving fans a glimpse of his true brilliance.
He was a Hero who soared across the pitch and propelled his team to victory.
These new Heroes will change the way you play Ultimate Team and along with the existing Heroes, there will be more opportunities to create unique teams.
It will also provide more chances to use players you grew up watching.
Some will be better than others, therefore they will be more expensive.
EA FC 25 is just around the corner but expect even more surprises as further announcements are made.
