"having good priorities is what this movie is all about."
Simone Ashley is featured in a new animated Christmas film, The Night Before Christmas in Wonderland, where she voices Alice.
Based on Carys Bexington and Kate Hindley’s bestselling book, the story promises to be fun for all the family as everyone learns about the value of spreading joy this festive season.
Simone features alongside a star-studded cast.
Gerard Butler plays the role of St Nick who travels to Wonderland with his gang of friends to save one girl’s Christmas.
After receiving a delayed Christmas letter, St Nick and his reindeer set off to make things right.
But they are greeted by the miserable Queen of Hearts, played by Game of Thrones star Emilia Clarke.
With the help of Alice, The Mad Hatter (Mawaan Rizwaan) and the March Hare (Asim Chaudhry), St Nick shows the Queen of Hearts the true meaning of Christmas.
Ahead of the movie’s release, Simone praised the “beautiful” message behind The Night Before Christmas in Wonderland.
She said: “It has a really positive and profound message about what Christmas should mean to people, and that’s how I feel about Christmas time. I really lean into it.
“I think the holidays can be a hard time for some people.
“I’ve definitely experienced that before, and I think just practising kindness and having good priorities is what this movie is all about.”
This film has been called the perfect watch for those awaiting a visit from Santa himself.

Gerard Butler also called the film “so smart and very effective”.
He said: “I took all my friends, they all laughed, they brought their kids, everybody, the adults and the kids laughed.
“For days after, I had a good feeling about how it left me, how it kind of percolated into me, the joy of it.”
The film also allows Simone Ashley to show off her singing skills, with Alice’s big number highlighting the festive message.
The Bridgerton star said: “I sang since I was a little girl.
“I did a lot of classical singing and musical theatre, so [it’s] definitely something that I’m very excited to start sharing.
“I love in the song, the lyrics were just so powerful.
“I want kids to understand that it is such a positive choice – and a really liberating and empowering choice – to be kind, because I think you can bring the beauty out of others by just being kind to them.
“And I think for adults, there’s a lyric that says, ‘Remember to smile like you did as a child’, and I really liked that one.”
The Night Before Christmas in Wonderland is available to watch on Sky Cinema from December 13, 2024.
