Borbaad promises to be a landmark production

Dhallywood superstar Shakib Khan is set to make waves yet again with his latest film, Borbaad.

The film is an action-packed thriller directed by Mehedi Hassan Hridoy in his feature film debut.

Following his remarkable transformations in Toofan and Dorod, Shakib is back with another dramatic character.

The actor unveiled a first-look motion poster shared on his Facebook page.

The poster was captioned: “Witness the beginning of Bengali cinema’s ultimate action-violence saga!”

Shakib’s post has already sparked immense excitement among fans.

It features Shakib Khan in a gripping and intense pose, seated on a blood-splattered car bonnet.

With one hand holding a gun and the other pressed to his lips in a “shushing” gesture, the actor exudes a chilling, enigmatic aura.

His face and hands, stained with blood, add to the dark and dramatic tone, leaving fans intrigued about the gritty narrative that awaits.

Slated for release during Eid-ul-Fitr 2025, Borbaad promises to be a landmark production in Bangladeshi cinema.

With a staggering budget of Tk 15 crore (£98,000), it is being crafted as an action-romantic spectacle.

Shakib Khan and Idhika Paul are leading the main cast.

The pair, who previously starred together in Priyotoma, are reuniting to bring this ambitious project to life.

The film boasts an impressive line-up, including actors like Jishu Sengupta, Manav Sachdev, and Misha Sawdagar, drawing talent from both Bangladesh and India.

Adding to the film’s allure, most scenes are being shot abroad, with stunts choreographed by Bollywood and Telugu action maestro Ravi Varma.

Director Mehedi Hassan Hridoy, who has helmed over 100 television dramas, has remained tight-lipped about the plot.

However, insiders suggest that Borbaad will be a game-changer for the Bangladeshi film industry, pushing the boundaries of action cinema.

Production began on October 24, 2024, but not without its challenges.

Shakib Khan sustained an injury on November 8, while filming a scene in Mumbai.

The accident occurred as he opened a door and accidentally struck his forehead, resulting in a cut near his eyebrow.

The crew quickly rushed him to a nearby hospital, where he underwent a CT scan.

Thankfully, the injury was minor, and Shakib resumed work shortly after, showcasing his unwavering commitment to the project.

With its high production values, international collaborations, and a star-studded cast, Borbaad is poised to set new benchmarks for action films in Bangladesh.

Fans are already counting down the days to Eid-ul-Fitr 2025 to witness what could be Shakib Khan’s most explosive performance yet.
