Tanjin Tisha is officially stepping into cinema with her long-awaited big-screen debut in Soldier, opposite superstar Shakib Khan.
The actress, adored for her television performances, will share the screen with Jannatul Ferdous Oishee under the direction of Shakeeb Fahad.
Produced by Sun Music and Motion Pictures Limited, the film has already begun shooting in Dhaka, marking a major moment in both Tisha’s and Fahad’s careers.
After weeks of speculation and silence from the production team, director Shakeeb Fahad finally confirmed the news, ending months of anticipation.
Speaking from the film’s set, Fahad said the casting was done carefully to fit the story’s spirit.
“The actors were chosen according to the story. You’ll see Tanjin Tisha opposite Shakib Khan, and we’re thrilled.
“This is her first film, and fans have been waiting for this for a long time.”
He added that Jannatul Ferdous Oishee also plays a significant role and expressed confidence that the film will not disappoint audiences.
The movie features veteran stars Tarik Anam Khan and Tauquir Ahmed in pivotal roles, and if all goes to plan, Soldier will reach theatres later this year.
Rumours about Tisha’s film debut have been circulating for several years.
Earlier talk suggested that she would star opposite Shakib Khan in another project, but that plan never moved forward.
This time, the collaboration between the two stars is finally happening, and fans are thrilled to see the pairing come to life.
Tisha was also linked to the Indian film Bhalobashar Morshum, where she was reportedly cast opposite Bollywood actor Sharman Joshi.
Due to visa complications and scheduling conflicts, however, that project was delayed indefinitely.
Tisha explained in a recent statement: “The shooting schedules for both films clashed. I wanted my big-screen debut to be through a Bangladeshi film.
“And I couldn’t miss the chance to work with a star like Shakib Khan.”
The actress was previously also rumoured to join Raihan Rafi’s Premik with Shakib, a project that never went into production.
Her upcoming role in Soldier finally fulfils that long-standing expectation from fans and industry insiders alike.
Oishee, last seen in Abu Tauhid Heron’s 2023 film Adam, will also appear alongside Tisha and Shakib.
She was previously linked to Asif Islam’s Jatri, but production delays kept the project on hold.
Filming for Soldier began on October 5, 2025, with Tanjin Tisha already in attendance for the shoot.
Her first scenes with Shakib Khan are scheduled for October 11, as confirmed by the director.
