She ignored repeated calls and messages.

Actor Tanjin Tisha has firmly denied claims of fraud after an Indian producer accused her of keeping a portion of an advance for a cross-border project she could not complete.

The dispute gained attention soon after a separate local complaint was filed against her, adding pressure to an already tense situation.

Indian producer Shariful Dhawak alleged that Tisha did not return an advance for the joint production titled Bhalobashar Morshum.

He stated that the actor stepped away from the film due to scheduling concerns and visa delays.

The producer added that Tisha had signed the agreement in July 2025 for filming planned to begin in October 2025 under director M N Raj.

Complications reportedly increased when she committed to the Bangladeshi film Soldier, directed by Shakeeb Fahad, which began shooting during the same period.

The overlapping timelines created a conflict that left her unable to participate in Bhalobashar Morshum, forcing the team to continue without her involvement.

The Indian side selected actress Susmita Chatterjee as a replacement and proceeded with production, while questions over the earlier advance remained unresolved.

According to Dhawak, Tisha had signed for a total payment of Tk 1.1 million and had received Tk 4.2 lac earlier.

He argued that she had withdrawn from the agreement and should therefore return the amount without further delay as a professional obligation.

Dhawak further claimed that she ignored repeated calls and messages and deliberately postponed communication despite several attempts to reach her.

In response, Tisha released a statement strongly rejecting the accusations and labelling them as completely baseless and misleading.

She stated that she received only one-third of the contract amount and waited nearly six weeks for the visa without accepting other work. The actress said:

“Our contract clearly stated that if such a situation occurred, the one-third payment would not be refundable.”

Tisha denied avoiding calls and stated that the producer attempted to reach her at two in the morning, which she found inappropriate.

She said she replied later during the day and believed that the producer exaggerated the situation to create unnecessary pressure upon her.

The actress also questioned his claims of being the actual producer and mentioned she knew the correct name but would not disclose it yet.

Tisha added that she felt disappointed that the matter reached the media despite her efforts to maintain professional boundaries and privacy.

She said she was sincerely sorry that the issue escalated publicly, but insisted that Shariful Dhawak’s intentions appeared ‘questionable.’

The controversy continues to draw interest from viewers and industry insiders as both parties present conflicting accounts regarding the payment dispute.

Tanjin Tisha expressed hope that the situation would settle soon so she could refocus on upcoming projects without further confrontation or speculation.
