Avani Nandra-Hart (Aaliyah James) has cemented herself as a headstrong, formidable teenager in EastEnders.
However, the character is set to feel pressured and vulnerable in upcoming scenes of the BBC soap.
Recent episodes of EastEnders saw Barney Mitchell (Lewis Bridgeman) catch Avani with an older boy named Mason (Alex Draper).
Barney revealed to the 18-year-old young man that Avani was 15 years old.
Despite being shocked, Avani brushed off his concerns as she pulled Mason into a kiss.
Barney and Avani will fall out in future episodes, compelling Barney’s father, Teddy Mitchell (Roland Manookian) to skip a drink with Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean).
Avani and Mason later share another kiss, but underage Avani is stunned when Mason reveals that he wants to have sex with her.
The EastEnders teenager is left conflicted, and she confides in Lily Slater (Lillia Turner) about her predicament.
Lily tries to convince Avani not to sleep with Mason, but the girls are unaware that Tommy Moon (Sonny Kendall) has overhead everything.
Teddy engineers a reconciliation between Avani and Barney, and invites the former to spend time with his son.
As Avani and Barney play video games together, Avani’s mother Priya Nandra-Hart (Sophie Khan Levy) appears.
She demands to know everything that is going on as Tommy has told her all about Mason and his demands.
How will Avani react? Will she cool things off with Mason or sleep with him?
Avani has recently noticed another change in her life.
It transpired that her dying grandfather Nish Panesar (Navin Chowdhry) had left her and her brother Davinder ‘Nugget’ Gulati (Juhaim Rasul Choudhary) everything in his will.
In an amusing scene, Nugget and Avani recently interviewed Alfie Moon (Shane Richie) when he applied to be the manager of the Minute Mart supermarket.
The teenagers subsequently sent Alfie on a training course away from Walford.
Aaliyah James joined EastEnders in October 2023. Speaking of her casting, she said:
