In upcoming EastEnders scenes, Avani Nandra-Hart’s (Aaliyah James) ordeal with older boyfriend Mason (Alex Draper) worsens when she refuses to sleep with him.
Viewers have seen 15-year-old Avani grow closer to 18-year-old Mason, despite her friend Barney Mitchell’s (Lewis Bridgeman) reservations.
Despite knowing she is underage, Mason proposes that they have sex, leaving Avani shocked.
Avani turns to Lily Slater (Lillia Turner) for advice. However, their conversation is overheard by Tommy Moon (Sonny Kendall).
After telling Priya Nandra-Hart (Sophie Khan Levy), she confronts her daughter, who is spending the evening with Barney.
In upcoming scenes, Nugget (Juhaim Rasul Choudhury) catches Avani texting her new boyfriend and she begs him to keep quiet.
Their father Ravi (Aaron Thiara) later confiscates her phone, enlisting Priya to help him gain access to it.
She insists that there’s nothing to worry about as Avani told her she was dating Barney.
Ravi leaves his daughter’s messages unread and hands back her phone. Avani soon contacts Mason and they meet up.
Avani explains that she is not ready to have sex and a row soon breaks out. Mason tells her to leave and she ends up with a busted lip. But did Mason hit her?
The teenager runs back into the Square and is spotted by her dad.
She tries to make up a story but Ravi is convinced that Barney is to blame for her injuries and decides to teach him a lesson.
Ravi quickly comes to blows with Barney’s dad Teddy (Roland Manookian), and Avani is pleading for him to stop.
With the two men squaring up to each other, the police arrive on the scene.
The shocking scenes come after Mason’s initial attempt to pressure Avani into sleeping with him.
Not wanting to go any further, Avani made an excuse and left but Mason was not happy.
Throughout the day, he bombarded her with calls that she ignored.
A worried Priya told her daughter that she wished she had waited to have sex and not rushed into it too young.
Avani seemed to take her mother’s advice onboard until she received a vile voice message from Mason.
After listening to the message, in which Mason told Avani to delete his number if she was going to be “frigid”, she appeared torn about what to do, before sneaking a packet of condoms off the Minute Mart shelf and into her bag.
This leads to the explosive scenes between Avani and Mason in EastEnders.
