The Bigg Boss Tamil star has been trending on X since a private video was circulated online.
Grainy footage showed a woman, purportedly of Oviya, having sex with a man.
Another clip showed the same woman performing a sex act on the man.
The woman in the explicit video had a tattoo on her upper arm that looked similar to the one Oviya has.
On X, netizens claimed to have the clip and offered to share it with those who sent them a message.
Meanwhile, others wondered if the clip was a deepfake.
As the apparent sextape continued to circulate, social media users showed their support for the actress.
One wrote: “It’s important that we stand with Oviya and respect her privacy during this difficult time This shouldn’t happen to anyone.”
Another said: “Whoever took the video should be ashamed of himself.”
Oviya has now appeared to have broken her silence on the matter in a defiant way.
On Instagram, the actress posted a picture of herself with her fingers crossed, supposedly hinting that she is aware of the viral clip.
In the comments section, one person asked her to share a longer version of the video.
Oviya remained calm and jokingly replied: “Next time bro.”
While netizens discussed the scandalous video, Oviya stated:
“Let them talk more.”
She also encouraged another person to “enjoy” the video.
One fan was upset by the apparent leak and hoped it was not Oviya.
The actress left things ambiguous as she replied: “Let it be a mystery.”
Although Oviya did not say whether or not she is the woman in the video, her reaction to the situation was met with praise, especially because of how traumatic something like an explicit video leak can be for a person.
