"Not your night, I'm afraid."

Dr Punam Krishan looked visibly upset during Strictly Come Dancing on October 12, 2024, as she and Gorka Marquez had a disappointing setback.

The Morning Live star impressed everyone in Movie Week with an inspiring performance to Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham‘s ‘Bole Chudiyan’.

It was the first time in the show’s 20-year history that a competing couple danced to a traditional Bollywood song.

She and Gorka ended up scoring 33 out of 40, raising expectations for her performance in week four.

The pair performed a jive to Lizzo’s ‘2 Be Loved (Am I Ready?)’.

Unfortunately, the reaction to their dance was less favourable.

Judge Motsi Mabuse told Punam and Gorka there “were too many mistakes”, suggesting that the “pressure” of doing well the previous week may have got to her.

While Anton Du Beke agreed, he made light of Punam’s mistakes before adding that he is looking forward to seeing her dance again.

However, Craig Revel-Horwood did not hold back as he described the jive as “messy and sloppy”, before adding:

“Not your night, I’m afraid.”

Things got awkward as Tess Daly said: “Sorry Craig… I missed what you said at the end there Craig, sorry.”

Craig repeated: “Not your night I’m afraid my darling.”

Realising what had been said, Tess replied:

“I rather wish I hadn’t heard it… but I think we all loved it ladies and gentlemen, didn’t we? We really enjoyed it.”

It did not take long for viewers to comment on the moment, with one saying:

“Tess making Craig say Punam did bad TWICE, oh that’s just CRUEL.”

Another fumed: “Now why the f**k did Tess make him repeat that?”

A third added: “Tess nobody cares that you didn’t hear it why’d you have to make him say it again.”

One user wrote: “‘We all loved it, didn’t we ladies and gentlemen’.

“Tess, I know you’re there to be encouraging, but read the room, that was horrendous to watch.”

Punam was left visibly shaken by the comments as she approached Claudia Winkleman with Gorka.

The emotional GP admitted: “I tried my best. I think I’m quite a left-brained person, so I think just trying to get all the footwork in… I tried my best.

“There were mistakes, hands up to that.”

Things got worse for Punam and Gorka as they only scored 20 out of 40.
