Shah Rukh Khan is regarded as one of the most romantic actors in Bollywood.
His off-screen persona is also known to project romance and charm.
However, sometimes, fans do not like some of his gestures.
A video recently surfaced on X that showed Shah Rukh Khan at an awards show.
In the clip, Shah Rukh was seen asking his frequent co-star Priyanka Chopra Jonas to marry him.
At the time, Priyanka was unmarried while SRK was married to Gauri Khan and shared children with her.
In the video, SRK told Priyanka: “Very few people know that you are an amazing singer.
“I don’t have the money to pay you but I’m going to ask you something, and I want the answer in a song.”
Shah Rukh then cleared his throat and sang ‘Let It Be‘ by The Beatles.
However, he replaced the lyrics, ‘Let it be’ with ‘Marry me’.
The DDLJ actor then asked Priyanka: “Now, tell us what you are worth, sweetheart.”
Priyanka chuckled awkwardly and replied: “I won’t be able to answer this question in words or a song.”
SRK responded: “Make a vulgar expression with your lip.”
The actor proceeded to make a kissing sound. He went on to say: “I think that I should not embarrass her any further.”
Priyanka quipped: “That was vulgar enough for national television.”
The user who posted the clip captioned the video: “The husband of Gauri Khan asked Priyanka to marry him multiple times publicly.
“We all saw how this ‘feminist icon’ on the screen stooped low when he was already married and had two kids at that time.”

A netizen commented under the clip: “Shameless behaviour by the global icon, SRK.”
Another wrote: “Feeling very sad for Gauri. She deserved a better husband.”
A third person declared: “Imagine being so dumb and blind that you are defending this s**t.
“Even if it was scripted, what the f**k is the tension and awkwardness in the audience?
“As a good performer, SRK should have stopped, but no!”
Shah Rukh Khan was previously alleged to have had an affair with Priyanka.
In February 2024, the film personality Vivek Vaswani addressed the rumour.
He stated: “It is not true. In fact, from the time I have known him, he has been a one-woman man all his life.
“How many flings have you heard of?
“We have had one rumour about Priyanka Chopra, but what else have we heard of Shah Rukh?
“Nothing. He’s not that kind of a person.”
SRK and Priyanka have worked together in films including Don: The Chase Begins Again (2006) and Don 2: The Chase Continues (2011).
On the work front, Priyanka Chopra Jonas last narrated the English documentary Tiger (2024).
Shah Rukh Khan will next be seen in King. He will also return to voice Mufasa in the live-action film Mufasa: The Lion King.
It is scheduled to be released on December 20, 2024.
