“For me, comfortable is boring.”
Priyanka Chopra is gearing up for the premiere of her upcoming series Citadel, which will be released on Prime Video soon.
She will play the role of a spy named Nadia Sinh in the Russo Brothers’ series, which also features Richard Madden.
The actor has been busy promoting the series ahead of its premiere, and in a recent interview at SXSW 2023, Priyanka was asked about how she was able to make it in Hollywood.
The interview also quoted Shah Rukh Khan’s comment on why he doesn’t want to move to Hollywood.
The interviewer said: “So many actors who have come, Hollywood just wastes them.
“So many Desi actors… like Shah Rukh Khan says, ‘why should I go there (Hollywood), I’m comfortable here.”
Priyanka was then asked how she was able to make it in Hollywood.
To this, Priyanka said: “For me, comfortable is boring.”
She said that she isn’t “arrogant,” she is “self-assured,” and added that she knows what she is doing when she walks onto a set:
“I don’t need the validation of executives. I am willing to take auditions, I am willing to work.
“I do not carry the baggage of my success in one country when I walk into another country.”
She also said that she is known for her professionalism and that she takes pride in that fact.
Priyanka also spoke about her father who was in the military and said that it was he who taught her the value of discipline:
“He taught me not to take the value of what you have been given for granted.”
Earlier, during her appearance on The Ranveer Show, Priyanka shared how there was a time when people in the Indian film industry tried to sabotage her career.
Talking about the same, the Mary Kom actor shared:
“I have had people wanting to jeopardise my career, take away from my work, make sure I wasn’t cast just because I was doing well in what I was doing.”
On the work front, Priyanka Chopra will be seen in an upcoming American drama television series, Citadel.
Besides that, she is all set to grace the silver screen with her upcoming film, Love Again, which is expected to release on May 12, 2023.
She also has Farhan Akhtar’s Jee Le Zaraa lined up, which will be her first Bollywood movie after The Sky is Pink released in 2019.
