When one thinks of top Bollywood stars, Shah Rukh Khan ranks high in every list.
The actor is known for his humorous statements in interviews.
However, an old clip on X showed SRK declaring himself to be the most versatile actor in India, drawing negative reactions from netizens.
During an interview for Jab Harry Met Sejal (2017), Shah Rukh Khan said:
“Even though people may not believe it, I would like to declare that I am the most versatile actor this country has ever seen, with due respect to everybody who has acted in this country.
“I’ve done an Asoka, Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani, Paheli, My Name is Khan, Chak De India, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge.
“I have done a Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Devdas, Jab Harry Met Sejal and a Chamatkar.
“You keep on counting, and I’ve done enough genres given the parameters of commercial cinema, when normally people only played hero types.
“I’ve always come and played an actor hero type at least to give some character to the hero instead of just being a hero.
“I’m lucky enough that those have also been accepted as a hero.
“But I’ve never really gone out – in Raees, I come out of smoke, and I enter in Don like a king.
“I jump from a plane, I fight, I romance, I beat up people, I get beaten up.”
“I played a bad guy which nobody else had done when I started, and I still do it.
“I’ve done a Fan, which is a completely mentally disturbing space.
“But I’m lucky enough to be such a big star that nobody has noticed my acting yet.”

Users criticised Shah Rukh Khan for his alleged attitude.
One said: “This guy is so self-obsessed.”
Another added: “He is such an insecure actor.”
A third person observed: “Apart from him, I have never heard anyone else call him the most versatile actor.”
In his career, SRK has won several Filmfare Awards for ‘Best Actor’.
In 2011, he won the accolade for My Name is Khan (2010), marking his eighth win in the category.
With this award, SRK tied with Dilip Kumar for most victories in the category. Both actors are currently the only two stars to have won the award eight times.
On the work front, Shah Rukh Khan will next be seen in King.
