"I wanted people to know what exactly happened"
As the controversy surrounding India’s Got Latent and Ranveer Allahbadia continues, one man who was in the audience revealed what happened afterwards.
Ranveer caused shock with his question to a contestant. He asked:
“Watch your parents have sex every day for the rest of your life. Or would you join in once and stop it forever?”
The comment caught Samay Raina off guard: “What the f***?”
He was also heard asking: “What has happened to Ranveer?”
Despite the initial shock, the India’s Got Latent panellists were seen laughing.
The backlash was swift.
Viewers called for the show to be banned, leading to multiple FIRs against Samay Raina and guest judges Ashish Chanchlani, Jaspreet Singh, Ranveer Allahbadia and Apoorva Mukhija.
Mohit Khubani, who was in the audience during the controversial episode, revealed that afterwards, Ranveer repeatedly apologised to the contestant and asked if his crude question had made him uncomfortable.
After winning the “pointless reality show”, Ranveer Allahbadia even walked up to the stage and hugged him to defuse the situation.
The 18-year-old said on Instagram: “This is what happened in that episode of India’s Got Latent. It’s fully unfiltered.”
In a video, he explained what transpired, adding that he “might delete it later”.
Mohit said: “I know this is not my regular content, but I wanted people to know what exactly happened in that episode.
“I don’t want my favourite creators getting hate for no reason because half of the people don’t even know what happened in that episode like they make sure that kid was comfortable while they make jokes.”

Amid the outrage, Ranveer issued a statement. He apologised and said it was a “lapse of judgement”.
Meanwhile, Samay removed all episodes of India’s Got Latent from his YouTube channel.
Samay said: Everything that is happening has been too much for me to handle.
“I have removed all India’s Got Latent videos from my channel. My only objective was to make people laugh and have a good time.
“I will fully cooperate with all agencies to ensure their inquiries are concluded fairly. Thank you.”
Ranveer Allahbadia approached the Supreme Court to consolidate the multiple FIRs against him.
His lawyer, Abhinav Chandrachud, told the court that Ranveer has been receiving death threats.
The Supreme Court strongly criticised the content, questioning:
“We would like to know that in this country if this is not obscenity then what is?”
The judges condemned the remarks: “Do you subscribe to the language that he has used? What is the parameter of obscenity?
“There is a height of irresponsibility. They believe that since they’ve become popular they can say anything. There’s dirt in his mind.
“Why should the court favour such a person?”
Justices Surya Kant and N Kotiswar Singh heard the case and granted Ranveer interim protection from arrest.
