Bangladeshi small-screen actor Farhan Ahmed Jovan has recently taken on a compelling role in the new drama Momota.
It is directed by the renowned Topu Khan and penned by the esteemed Limon Ahmed.
The drama, which also stars Sadia Ayman, premiered on YouTube on October 8, 2024.
In such a short time, it has already garnered immense appreciation and positive feedback from viewers.
The narrative centres around a young man who finds himself at the hospital due to his mother’s illness.
While caring for her, he also extends his kindness to other patients, earning the affection of those around him.
Among them is a young woman whose father is receiving treatment.
Enchanted by his compassionate nature, she gradually falls in love with him.
Reflecting on his role, Farhan remarked:
“There are certain roles that leave a lasting impact, and Momota is one of them for me.
“We don’t live just for ourselves; we have obligations to the people around us, as well as the society and the country.
“This theme is portrayed beautifully through my character.”
He expressed gratitude for the positive audience response, noting that it motivates him to continue focusing on quality in his future projects.
Topu Khan emphasised the drama’s intention to step outside conventional storytelling.
He explained: “We aimed to create a romantic drama that conveys a message of compassion between people, alongside a narrative of responsibility toward family, society, and loved ones.”
Topu Khan further noted that Momota illustrates the idea that love is the greatest strength in the world.
It also addresses important issues related to the country’s healthcare system.
The drama features an impressive ensemble cast, including Chitralekha Guho, Ziaul Hasan Kislu, Monira Mithu, Mukit Zakaria and Bappi Ashraf.
