Farhan Ahmed Jovan and Naznin Niha are set to star in the upcoming romantic drama Megher Brishti, which explores love, expectations, and personal discovery.
The drama promises to deliver a tender yet layered story of unexpected love and shifting perceptions.
The plot centres around Megh (Farhan Ahmed Jovan), a Bangladeshi expatriate living in the United States.
During his visit to Bangladesh, Megh plans to get married, encouraged by his mother.
She regularly sends him packages from home, often stuffed with photos of potential brides and handwritten notes.
In one of these letters, Megh is introduced to Ritu (Naznin Niha), a student at Dhaka Medical College.
His mother’s note praises the girl’s modesty and religious devotion.
The note reads: “Very gentle by nature, doesn’t leave the house without a burqa or hijab, prays regularly, speaks little.
“I believe this girl won’t trouble you or argue back.”
The only drawback, she adds, is that Ritu has no siblings. This meant Megh would miss out on the fun that comes with a larger in-law family.
Initially indifferent, Megh finds himself captivated by Ritu’s photograph.
Her image, more than the description, stirs something within him. He decides to return to Bangladesh and marry her.
But once they meet, he realises Ritu is far from the quiet, obedient figure painted by his mother.
What unfolds is a romantic journey shaped by clashing expectations and evolving emotions.
Megher Brishti is written and scripted by Emdad Babu and directed by Masrikul Alam.
The director described the drama as “a beautiful love story”.
He expressed hope that audiences would connect with its emotional core and relatable themes.
“This is a beautiful love story. I hope audiences will appreciate it.”
Producer SK Shahed Ali Pappu shared that CMV had launched 14 special dramas over the Eid holidays on its YouTube channel.
All of these received strong viewership and positive feedback.
With Eid celebrations concluded, CMV now shifts back to regular programming, beginning with the release of Megher Brishti.
The drama is expected to be released soon on CMV’s platform.
