Laurence "intentionally shared a photograph"

Laurence Fox has pleaded not guilty to two sex offences after allegedly sharing an upskirting photo of Narinder Kaur.

The 46-year-old actor and failed London mayoral candidate is accused of reposting the photo on his X account in April 2024.

The image, which was taken without Narinder’s consent, showed her climbing out of a taxi in 2009.

Laurence Fox arrived at Westminster Magistrates’ Court wearing a cap bearing the slogan “Two-tier Britain”.

He denied two charges brought under section 66A of the Sexual Offences Act 2003.

The first charge alleges that on April 30, 2024, Laurence “intentionally shared a photograph which showed, or appeared to show, another person, namely Narinder Kaur, in an intimate state, with the intention of causing that person alarm, distress or humiliation”.

The second charge states that he “intentionally sent” a photograph of Narinder’s genitals, “intending that the person or another person would see… and for the purpose of obtaining sexual gratification, and being reckless as to whether that person would be caused alarm, distress or humiliation”.

Laurence opted for a crown court trial and will appear at Woolwich Crown Court on May 23.

If convicted, he faces a maximum sentence of two years in prison and the possibility of being placed on the Sex Offenders Register.

Narinder Kaur, who has waived her right to anonymity, reported the image after it was circulated online, sparking an 11-month investigation by the Metropolitan Police.

She previously said: “I felt violated, humiliated and degraded.”

In a Times article, she wrote:

“It’s like being assaulted every day, every time I tweet or go online, being called names again and again to the point where I come off social media altogether.

“He said the image was circulated in a WhatsApp group he was part of and that’s how he came by it. That made me feel sick.

“Every day I wake up and go to sleep horrified.”

“It’s all because Laurence Fox and his gang of Merry Men decided I needed to be put in my place. I want it to go away, to disappear.”

Laurence Fox, who rose to fame in ITV drama Lewis, has since become more widely known for his controversial views on race, gender and the Covid-19 pandemic.

In 2023, he was sacked from GB News after making sexist remarks about a female journalist live on air.

He later ran for London mayor in 2021 under the banner of the Reclaim Party but received only 47,000 votes and lost his £10,000 deposit.
