“Then we just went from strength to strength."
Samraj has teased plans to take Mica to Barbados after the couple narrowly missed out on the Love Island final.
The couple were brutally axed after former Islanders returned to the show and were given the power to decide which couple they believed were the weakest.
Samraj and Mica received eight votes from the returning contestants, making them the couple with the highest number of votes and ending their time on the show.
As they reflected on their Love Island journey, Samraj received a text, giving them the power to dump another couple alongside them.
Upon exiting the show, Samraj detailed his plans with Mica for the outside world as he hit back at the Islanders that voted them out.
He said: “I realised from the beginning, I would have loved this girl either as my best friend or as my girlfriend, a partner. Now she’s both of them wrapped in one.
“Then we just went from strength to strength. I can’t wait to go to Barbados.”
It appears that the couple will be heading to Barbados, with Mica keen to show Samraj where she grew up.
Mica’s aunt is Mia Mottley, Barbados’ first female Prime Minister.
Addressing claims from other Islanders that their relationship was not genuine, Samraj suggested their time together outside the villa would prove their connection was real.
He stated: “When everyone’s saying you’re not genuine, you guys do that in the UK. I’ll be in the beach house.”
Samraj also hit back at the criticism and said he did not understand why their relationship was viewed negatively.
Samraj said: “This was the first time I was happy to go.
“What didn’t sit right with me was some of the justifications people were using. People have mentioned friends-to-lovers as a reason.
“I don’t get that. If anything, you have more of a solid foundation. I can’t wait to prove people wrong.”
The Love Island star also suggested he could see a long-term future with Mica, claiming their relationship would prove doubters wrong over time.
He continued: “In five years’ time, six years’ time, Mica’s got a big ring on her finger and she’s expecting – ‘Oh, friends-to-lovers doesn’t work?’ I can’t wait.
“Time will prove stuff.”
The final, which airs on July 27, will see Julia and Lorenzo, Yasmin and Tommy, Jasmine and Kavan, and Angelista and Simba hoping to triumph.
