"It’s disappointing but that’s the way the cookie crumbles."
Munveer Jabbal has reflected on his “disappointing but enjoyable” time on Love Island.
The recruitment manager was sent home along with Patsy Field in the first double eviction of the series, leaving viewers furious.
Unbeknown to the islanders, the public had been voting for their favourite couple and they gathered around the firepit to hear the results.
They learnt that Sean and Harriet, Patsy and Munveer, and Omar and Uma were all at risk.
But in a shock twist, it was down to the save islanders to send two home.
The girls picked which boy to go while the boys selected the girl.
Ultimately, Munveer and Patsy were evicted and those watching at home were unhappy about the decision.
Reflecting on his short stay in the villa, Munveer said:
“It’s disappointing but that’s the way the cookie crumbles.
“I can’t look back and say I wish this happened or wish that happened because I had a good time. I made some really good friends.
“Obviously, I didn’t find the one, which is why I was there, but these things happen.”
Munveer and Patsy initially bonded after the latter opened up about her disability.
Munveer had been coupled with Mimii before picking Patsy but the romance failed to spark and the pair agreed to explore other options.
Giving his thoughts on why it did not progress, Munveer said:
“There was a little spark to begin with but as we got to know each other more there I could tell there was something missing.
“She’s obviously a very nice girl and very attractive but we were just lacking that spark.”
He also had an initial connection with Jess White but he admitted that his approach could have been better.
“Jess is a really cool girl and her personality really shone through.
“Unfortunately, my timing was a little bit off given the Ronnie situation and in hindsight, I didn’t approach it in the right way.
“All the girls bring something different to the table, all great personalities and all easy on the eye.
“I think it would have been Nicole and Jess for me.”
On who he believes is forming a good connection in the villa, Munveer Jabbal told Telly Mix:
“Definitely Nicole and Ciaran. When Ciaran talks about Nicole you can tell he gets a little bit flustered and the butterflies start turning.
“They have a really strong connection but they would be my frontrunners at the moment.”
