"Not hugging Julia is so shady and petty."
Love Island viewers were quick to spot a fleeting moment during the 2026 final after many claimed runner-up Jasmine Muller appeared to snub winner Julia Majchrzak during the post-show celebrations.
Lorenzo Alessi and Julia were crowned the winners of the ITV dating show, securing the £50,000 prize.
Kavan Murphy and Jasmine finished in second place, while Simba Kudyiwa and Angelista Gunda came third.
After host Maya Jama announced the result, the finalists gathered to congratulate the winning couple.
However, Jasmine appeared to run to Lorenzo to hug him, straight past Julia.
The apparent moment sparked debate on X, with one commenting:
“You see the way Jasmine aired Julia and didn’t hug her, she’s angry that she didn’t win.”
Another stated: “Jasmine couldn’t have made it any clearer that she doesn’t like Julia!”
A third added: “Notice how Jasmine didn’t hug Julia lmao we see u.”
One person noticed: “Jasmine not even hugging Julie we love to see it.”
Believing Jasmine was unhappy at the result, a comment read: “Jasmine’s FUMING.”
Several viewers also criticised Jasmine’s apparent reaction.
One person said: “Why didn’t Jasmine congratulate Julia? Jasmine only hugged him, and that is why they didn’t win, mean girl behaviour.”
Another said: “Not hugging Julia is so shady and petty.”
A social media user added: “Jasmine hugging Lorenzo but not Julia? Bitter till the end.”
However, others defended Jasmine, arguing the moment had been taken out of context.
One person wrote: “Jasmine went to hug Julia, but Maya intercepted you lot are so weird.”
Another said:
“So now they are having a go at Jasmine for not hugging Julia, are you guys alright??”
“You just need to criticise everything don’t you? It’s the nerves of the moment, I’m sure she has already congratulated her.”

The interaction quickly divided viewers, with some convinced Jasmine had intentionally overlooked Julia and others believing the live final’s hectic celebrations made the moment easy to misinterpret.
Lorenzo appeared stunned after he and Julia were crowned the 2026 winners. Unable to contain his laughter, he exclaimed: “What the hell?”
Julia, meanwhile, told Maya Jama: “I would just love to say thank you to everyone. I didn’t think that coming into Casa, I would be stood here. It’s crazy.”
When questioned about their plans for the prize money, she revealed: “I want him to move in with me.”
