Sahir allegedly confessed to his crime.

Sahir Hasan, son of veteran Pakistani actor Sajid Hasan, has been granted bail in a narcotics case involving over half a kilogram of cannabis.

The court directed Sahir to submit a surety bond worth Rs. 1 million as a condition for his release.

Sahir was arrested by Karachi South police on February 22, 2025, in the Defence Housing Authority area.

He had been in judicial custody for more than two months.

His bail application was approved by a constitutional bench of the SHC after both prosecution and defence presented their arguments.

The court considered the extended duration of his detention and permitted conditional release as the legal proceedings remain ongoing.

An interim challan filed in April 2025 revealed that Sahir allegedly confessed to his crime.

He admitted to depositing proceeds from drug sales into a bank account operated by a business associate of his father.

In light of this, the court summoned the account manager and instructed him to present banking documents to substantiate or challenge the claims.

However, no financial records have yet been provided by the manager, leaving the allegations unverified.

Sahir Hasan’s connection to a prominent public figure has placed the case in the media spotlight.

His bail has raised questions about how celebrity status may intersect with legal proceedings.

The outcome of the investigation into Sahir’s alleged financial transactions could play a key role in the court’s future decisions.

While this high-profile narcotics case unfolds, another significant legal development took place involving Armaghan Qureshi.

For the unversed, Sahir allegedly sold drugs to both Armaghan and Mustafa Amir.

Armaghan, accused of running an illegal call centre and engaged in cryptocurrency transfers, was presented in court via video link.

Officials from the FIA Cybercrime Wing requested physical remand, emphasising the need for a technical investigation into the operations of the alleged call centre.

The court granted a five-day remand and ordered prison authorities to transfer Armaghan to Cybercrime Wing custody.

He is also a key suspect in the brutal murder of Mustafa Amir, who was abducted and later killed in Karachi’s DHA on January 6, 2025.

Mustafa Amir’s charred body was discovered in the Hub region of Balochistan, concealed inside the trunk of his vehicle.

As proceedings continue in both cases, further developments are expected to shed more light on the depth and nature of the alleged crimes.
