“They’re posing like celebrities during a criminal case."
Veteran actor Sajid Hasan is facing intense criticism after publicly supporting his son Sahir Hasan amid the Mustafa Amir murder case.
Sahir was recently arrested for drug-related offences and alleged involvement in the case.
The actor’s defence of his son has sparked widespread outrage, with many accusing him of attempting to shield Sahir from legal consequences.
According to the Special Investigation Unit (SIU), Sahir Hasan was apprehended in Defence Phase 6, Khayaban-e-Rahat, for possession of narcotics.
Investigators revealed that Sahir had been involved in drug dealing for the past two years, supplying narcotics to affluent areas of the city.
During police interrogation, Sahir reportedly confessed to obtaining drugs from suppliers identified as Basel and Yahya.
He also admitted to supplying drugs to Armaghan, a key suspect in the Mustafa Amir murder case.
Following his arrest, a formal case was registered against Sahir under narcotics charges.
Authorities are continuing their investigation to determine his potential connection to the murder.
Reports indicate that Sajid Hasan is actively pursuing his son’s bail, expressing gratitude to officers who have assisted during the legal process.
Public outrage escalated when a video of Sajid and Sahir surfaced on social media.
It showed the actor standing beside his son during the ongoing legal proceedings.
In the video, Sajid appeared supportive, without expressing remorse or addressing the severity of the allegations.
His son was seen smiling next to him with no guilt on his face despite his earlier confession.
The video quickly went viral, drawing sharp criticism from social media users.
One user commented: “They’re posing like celebrities during a criminal case. The father seems proud, and the son looks unapologetic.”
Another criticised Sajid’s parenting, stating: “Instead of defending him, you should be ashamed that you failed to raise your children properly.”
Concerns were also raised about potential favouritism, with one commenter noting:
“I hope he faces justice, but I fear he’ll be released due to his father’s influence.”
Many believe that individuals with connections often receive preferential treatment, undermining the justice system.
Critics argued that public figures should use their influence to promote responsibility rather than shield their loved ones.
A user said: “This is Pakistan, where the privileged walk free even after killing someone.”
As the case continues, authorities have yet to provide further updates on Sahir Hasan’s legal status.
