In a recent appearance on Green Entertainment’s Ramadan transmission, Saba Faisal shared her views on the behaviour of young actors.

During the discussion, the veteran actress delved into the topic of unprofessional behaviour among her younger peers.

Saba Faisal recalled an incident where a scene was delayed due to an actress forgetting her costume.

Expressing her frustration, she questioned how an actress could overlook such a crucial aspect of their job.

Saba said: “I am very punctual and particular about my work.

“Today, I was already discussing on my set at how can someone be late, or how can someone forget his/her things at home as our scene got late because of an actress’s continuity issues.

“She forgot her suit at home and I was like how can you forget your clothes that you need to wear for the scene.

“I have been working for years, but I never forgot my wardrobe or accessories at home.”

Hina Bayat, who was also a guest on the show, interjected:

“I know a girl who refused to wake up on the set for her scene, and everyone was waiting for her.

“I can’t scold everyone at the set, yes, I do discuss it with people who are closer to me.”

Despite the challenges, both actresses remained committed to maintaining professionalism in their work environment.

The conversation then shifted to the issue of actors assuming familial titles on set.

Hina Bayat humorously recounted an incident where a younger actor, portraying her son on screen, began addressing her as ‘Appa.’

It is a term typically reserved for mothers or older sisters.

She expressed her discomfort with the informal address and stressed the importance of maintaining professional boundaries on set.

Saba Faisal echoed this sentiment, highlighting the need for mutual respect and decorum among colleagues.

She shared her disapproval of being addressed as “aunty” by younger actors, emphasising the need for professionalism in all interactions.

Netizens shared their opinions on Saba’s statements.

A user wrote: “Well she is old and she is an aunty. What does she expect us to call her?

“Dressing like a Gen Z, wearing baggy jeans won’t change the fact that she is a grandmother.”

One questioned: “They just called her Appa out of respect. Does she not want to be respected?”.

Another said:

“They are both right as far as the behaviour of younger actors is concerned. They are very arrogant.”
