“I cannot wait to be there.”
Earlier, the actor was also invited to play at the NBA Celebrity All-Stars match where he had a gala time being in the company of some of the most revered stars of the game.
Ranveer has now been invited to the UK for the premier league, which happens to be the biggest footballing event in the world.
The Bollywood megastar played basketball on February 18, 2022, in Cleveland, Ohio, alongside a whole host of celebrities.
This included the likes of rappers Quavo, Anuel AA and Jack Harlow, NFL player Myles Garrett and comedian Tiffany Haddish.
The teams were coached by NBA legends Bill Walton and Dominique Wilkins.
The match is an annual event where celebrities from the world of entertainment and music rub shoulders with some of the past and present greats from the world of sports in a game of basketball.
While Ranveer Singh played in the 2022 NBA All-Star Celebrity Game, he is not the first Bollywood star to do so.
In 2015, Abhishek Bachchan became the first Indian to take part.
At New York’s Madison Square Garden, he played alongside the likes of actors Anthony Anderson, Ansel Elgort and the late Chadwick Boseman.
Ranveer has an association with basketball as the NBA appointed the actor as their brand ambassador for India in September 2021.
During the announcement, Ranveer had said:
“I have loved basketball and the NBA since my childhood and have always been fascinated with its influence on popular culture including music, fashion and entertainment.
“With the NBA tipping off its 75th season celebrations, there couldn’t have been a better time to join forces with the league and support their efforts to grow basketball in the country.”
