Rakhi Sawant has waded into the ongoing controversy surrounding Govinda and Komal Rani Swarnkar.
The entertainer expressed her clear displeasure with Govinda over his rumoured relationship with the actress.
She said: “Govinda ji, the whole nation is upset with you.
“The woman who married you and gave birth to your two kids, who has been with you for 40 years, you left her.
“And who is this Komal?”
Rakhi made it clear that her sympathy lies firmly with Govinda’s wife Sunita Ahuja, who has been speaking openly about the troubles in their marriage.
She also alleged that Komal had been badmouthing her and issued a direct and pointed warning to the newcomer.
In Hindi, she said: “She is badmouthing me and talking trash about other celebrities too.
“Chichi Bhaiya is the one who gave her these wings.
“Listen, don’t mess with me. I am not Sunita. I will tear you to shreds.”
Rakhi also went as far as calling Komal a pati chor (husband stealer) during an exchange with paparazzi.
The controversy around Govinda and Komal has been building steadily, with the two being spotted together at Lalbaugcha Raja.
This was on the very same day that Sunita visited the pandal alone.
The timing of those parallel visits drew considerable attention and further fuelled the speculation.
Govinda has repeatedly denied any wrongdoing, insisting that his appearances with Komal are purely professional and linked to their film Roopa.
Earlier, Sunita had spoken to Rakhi directly and alleged during that conversation that Govinda and Komal were planning to get married.
She claimed that the news of the alleged second marriage plans was the reason she approached the court to withdraw her divorce petition.
However, Govinda’s manager Shashi Sinha categorically denied the second marriage claims, calling them completely untrue.
The controversy drew further layers when Komal herself chose to respond publicly to the wave of criticism.
In a strongly worded note, Komal called out the celebrities who had commented on her association with Govinda.
She accused them of maligning both their names, saying:
“Some actresses in the film industry, whose careers have gone cold, whose films are no longer working at the box office, seem to have nothing left except their washed-out brand tags.
“They are trying to stay relevant by sticking their noses into other people’s ongoing controversies and trying desperately to keep themselves in the limelight.
“I have no interest in taking lessons on sindoor, marriage, or our Indian culture and traditions…”
“From women who themselves mock sindoor, whose own marriages are falling apart, and who cannot even uphold the sanctity of their own marital relationships.”
The entire controversy has placed Govinda and Sunita Ahuja’s forty-year marriage firmly under a public microscope.
