A disturbing case of custodial torture has emerged where an SHO was accused of torturing a Pakistani man named Mohsin Khan.

The incident has sparked public outrage after images of the victim’s injuries surfaced online, showing clear signs of physical abuse.

Mohsin Khan, a local resident, had previously uploaded a video criticising SHO Khurram Shehzad, which reportedly led to a long-standing grudge between the two.

When Shehzad was reassigned to Kamar Mushani Police Station, Mohsin was allegedly detained without legal grounds.

His parents were not informed of his whereabouts for two days and were not allowed to meet him during his time in custody.

The victim’s family and local residents grew concerned after being denied any information about Mohsin’s condition.

Following intervention from the community, Mohsin was eventually released from police custody.

However, photographs taken after his release revealed severe bruises and marks on his body, indicating the extent of the torture he had endured.

The public backlash was swift, with protests erupting against the unlawful arrest and inhumane treatment Mohsin suffered.

Locals condemned the abuse, calling for strict action against the officer responsible.

In response to the outcry, DPO Mianwali, Captain (retd) Muhammad Ajmal, acted quickly.

He took immediate notice of the incident and ordered that SHO Khurram Shehzad be suspended from his post.

The DPO also instructed SP Investigation Mianwali to conduct a thorough inquiry into the matter.

The case highlights the growing concern over police brutality in Pakistan.

Similar cases have surfaced in the past, drawing attention to the misuse of power by law enforcement.

Public trust in the police has been increasingly undermined by reports of such incidents.

Many citizens are calling for greater accountability and reforms within the system.

The investigation into Mohsin Khan’s case is ongoing, and further departmental action will depend on the findings of the inquiry.

Meanwhile, another case emerged in Peshawar, where the Peshawar High Court (PHC) has taken a strong stance against illegal arrests by the police.

The court ordered the formation of a full bench to address the unlawful detention of five individuals in Hayatabad.

They were allegedly arrested during a police raid.

Justice Ejaz Anwar reportedly said:

“There is no law here. You arrest people first and file FIRs later. This must stop.”

Justice Syed Arshad Ali remarked: “If citizens have been detained, there must be a legal justification.”

These incidents highlight the urgent need for police reforms in Pakistan, ensuring that citizens’ rights are safeguarded against wrongful arrests and custodial torture.
