“Finding Freedom is an honest, up-close and disarming portrait"
The former royal Meghan Markle allegedly used to keep a journal while residing with the British royal family which is believed to hold many palace secrets.
The former American actress moved away from her home country when she tied the knot with her husband and Prince Harry.
Reportedly from the time Meghan arrived till the moment she left as the Duchess of Sussex, she kept a diary recounting her time at the palace.
Meghan and Harry decided to “step back” from their official duties. It is believed they wanted to seek financial independence and relocated to Los Angeles.
According to several reports, Meghan Markle’s journal is thought to have paved way for her and Harry’s memoir. The forthcoming memoir is titled, ‘Finding Freedom: Harry and Meghan and the Making of a Modern Royal Family’ (2020).
Interestingly, it has been claimed the announcement of their upcoming memoir sent shockwaves through the royal palace.
According to the Daily Mail, royal writer Andrew Morton revealed his intrigue about the possibility of a book in Meghan’s own words. He said:
“She is a good writer with a nice turn of phrase. Remember she studied English in her first year at Northwestern College.”
Andrew Morton has previously penned ‘Meghan: Hollywood Princess’ (2018). Also in 1992, he wrote ‘Diana: Her True Story’ five years before her untimely demise.
The late royal Princesses of Wales, unfortunately, passed away on August 31, 1997, due to a traffic collision in France.
Andrew Morton continued to mention that a first-person account would allow Meghan and Harry “total control”. This is something they were longing for before their move to Los Angeles.
According to the report, Meghan Markle’s close friends further added:
“I think [Meghan] wants people to feel sorry for her or at least have compassion for her and all she’s been through, which has been anything but a fairy tale.”
The couple’s biography ‘Finding Freedom: Harry and Meghan and the Making of a Modern Royal Family’ (2020) was written by Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand.
It is scheduled to hit shelves on August 11, 2020. The excerpt used to describe the book reads:
“Finding Freedom is an honest, up-close and disarming portrait of a confident, influential and forward-thinking couple who are unafraid to break with tradition, determined to create a new path away from the spotlight and dedicated to building a humanitarian legacy that will make a profound difference in the world.”
