Mallika posted the tweet on June 23, 2009, after meeting Kamala Harris at a “fancy event.” She wrote:

“Having fun at a fancy event with a woman who they say could be US President, Kamala Harris. Chicks rule!”

In a second post, Mallika Sherawat shared a picture of herself with Kamala Harris.

The actress wrote that she was inspired by Kamala Harris for her role in the 2011 film, Politics of Love. She said:

“With Kamala Harris, attorney general of San Francisco, I was inspired by her for my role in Politics of Love.”

The film revolved around a campaign team who get stuck in personal romances during the time of Barack Obama’s presidential run.

The romantic comedy film features Mallika Sherawat, Brian J. White, Loretta Devina and many more.

Kamala Harris became the first Asian American, first Black American and first woman Vice President of the United States.

The Vice President is the daughter of an African American father from Jamaica and an Indian mother.

In her speech after winning the election, the new Vice President thanked President Joe Biden for selecting her as his running mate. She said:

“What a testament it is to Joe’s character that he had the audacity to break one of the most substantial barriers that exist in our country and select a woman as his Vice President.”
