“Not my first time on the rodeo."
Kusha Kapila gave her take on being roasted by Samay Raina over her divorce.
The fashion editor and social media personality’s marriage to Zorawar Singh Ahluwalia ended in 2023 and since then, it has been a topic of discussion and trolling.
Kusha appeared in the season one finale of Pretty Good Roast Show, which is hosted by Aashish Solanki.
While Aashish took on his usual role as roast master, the roasters included Samay Raina, Gurleen Pannu, Aaditya Kulshreshth aka Kullu and Shreya Priyam Roy.
Kusha was the victim of brutal jokes and the episode became the season’s second-most-watched, particularly due to Samay’s “jokes”.
His jokes included targeting Kusha’s marriage, divorce and even sex life.
Some of the comments were so brutal that they were censored.
Although Kusha was seen laughing, many viewers questioned how she handled it.
She has now addressed the matter.
During an Ask Me Anything (AMA) session on Instagram, Kusha revealed that she has restricted phrases like ‘Samay Raina’, ‘Samay’, ‘Aashish Solanki’, ‘dark humour’, ‘dark comedy’ and ‘roast show’ on the platform.
A fan asked: “How did you manage to handle the brutal roast? Especially Samay.”
Kusha replied: “Not my first time on the rodeo. In the large scheme of things, nothing matters.
“Probably when I have processed all of it, I will speak about it on a level-headed podcast (lol do we have any) or maybe never. We will see.
“This profile continues to be a safe space for my female and queer followers.”
Kusha’s response sparked further discussion on Reddit, with many debating whether she took the roast well.
While some believed Samay crossed the line multiple times, others noted that she seemed fine during the show, which she willingly participated in, suggesting they are probably friends.

Announcing the end of her marriage, Kusha Kapila’s post read:
“Zorawar and I have mutually decided to part ways.
“This hasn’t been an easy decision by any means but we know it’s the right one at this point in our lives.
“The love and life we have shared together continue to mean everything to us, but sadly, what we seek currently for ourselves doesn’t align.
“We gave it our all until we couldn’t anymore.”
The news led to Kusha facing backlash, with many accusing Kusha of leaving Zorawar once she found success.
Some even shared old interview clips and implied that Kusha left him because she felt she is now too good for him.
