"I would not like to dignify it"
Kusha Kapila has hit out at the ongoing rumours that she is dating Arjun Kapoor.
The pair were linked in August 2023 after a Reddit user claimed to have received word that Arjun and Malaika had broken up and already moved on with Kusha.
Many social media users began to wonder if the rumours were true given that Kusha had recently separated from her husband Zorawar Singh Ahluwalia.
A picture from July resurfaced and further fuelled the rumours.
Taken from a party at Karan Johar’s house, the group photo appeared to show Arjun looking over at Kusha. Meanwhile, Malaika was not in attendance.
Kusha dismissed the dating rumours and said:
“Every day I read such nonsense about myself that I will now need to introduce me to myself formally.
“Every time I read sh*t about myself I just hope and pray my mother does not read it.”
However, the rumours have continued, annoying Kusha.
Hitting out at the ongoing speculation, she said:
“I would not like to dignify it with a response. To be really honest, I don’t think something like this needs to be dignified with any kind of response.”
Since her separation, Kusha Kapila has had to deal with trolling.
On how she has been dealing with it, Kusha said:
“I do understand that this is a part of being a public person like if you’re profiting off being a public person, I understand that this is now a part of that.
“It is the job of the people to comment and which was going to happen.
“I think my life now is in the service of making my skin thicker and thicker every day.”
“And that’s just what I work towards literally every day I have to be immune, I have to be thick-skinned and the scars will begin to heal soon enough.”
Kusha explained that she has enough distractions to ensure that the criticism does not get the better of her.
She continued: “But I also feel like this – you want to keep your process of healing and feeling better private because it’s sacred, and you want to do is respect all parties involved.
“So as much as I’d like to protect it with a lock and the key thrown somewhere in the abyss, the better it will be for all of the people who are attached to this.”
The influencer will feature in Thank You For Coming, playing Kanika’s (Bhumi Pednekar) arch-enemy Neha.
