“There was wind blowing, what was I supposed to do"
Former Splitsvilla contestant Khushi Mukherjee has addressed her apparent wardrobe malfunction that went viral.
Known more for her bold outfits than her acting credits in recent years, Khushi went viral after going braless in a striking gold halterneck dress.
The outfit featured a backless design and plunging neckline.
However, Khushi raised eyebrows because on several occasions, the wind blew her mini-dress up and appeared to reveal that she wasn’t wearing any underwear.
As a result, she was forced to hold down the dress.
Footage of Khushi in the revealing outfit quickly spread across social media.
While some praised her confidence, others were less kind, accusing her of indecency and using vulgarity to question her motives.
Among the loudest reactions was a moment captured on video where an elderly man walking past made a crude comment suggesting she wasn’t wearing underwear.
His remark, picked up by cameras and later circulated online, drew outrage from multiple corners, some condemning him for verbal harassment, others backing his sentiment and piling further criticism on Khushi.
The incident reignited a familiar debate over what is deemed acceptable in public spaces, particularly when it comes to women’s clothing.
A similar incident saw Khushi dressed in black and desperately holding her bold dress down as she looked to have gone underwear-free, where the person tweeting a post on X questions if she is wearing any underwear or not.

The conversation took another turn when TV actress Falaq Naaz appeared to criticise Khushi in a video that didn’t name her directly but left little room for ambiguity.
Falaq questioned the government’s silence on such public appearances while pointing out how people are penalised for feeding stray animals.
She asked: “Why is there no penalty for people like this?”
Khushi Mukherjee has now spoken out about the supposed fashion blunder and hit out at her critics.
In an interview with Viral Bollywood, she said in Hindi:
“Did you check if I was wearing underwear or not? Of course, no one is going to step out without underwear, right?.
“I was wearing a thong, and I had adjusted the strip upwards.”
Dismissing claims she looked uncomfortable in the outfit, Khushi continued:
“There was wind blowing, what was I supposed to do, flash everyone? I was managing it. I wasn’t feeling uncomfortable.
“But still, my ‘oops moment’ gets clicked.
“I’m always conscious of which parts of my body I’m showing.”
But it was her emotionally charged remarks about the mental toll of online judgment that struck a deeper chord.
She stated: “There’s so much poison inside people… what do they want? That I should die by suicide? I won’t. Maybe someone else will because of me, but I won’t. I do all this because I simply don’t care.”
