"I am going to live my life the way I want to."

Khushi Kapoor has spoken candidly about undergoing cosmetic procedures, saying she wants to be honest with her fans and avoid setting unrealistic beauty standards.

The 24-year-old said that while she has altered her appearance, she’s not hiding anything.

She admitted: “Yes, I have changed my looks. But everyone thinks I have done some 10-20 things on myself. It is obviously not the case.

“People will say that why did she change herself and did not stick to her original looks?

“So, you are not going to win either way. I am going to live my life the way I want to.”

While many stars avoid discussing cosmetic procedures, Khushi is clear about her reasons for being upfront:

“For me, it is not okay to be dishonest with people around me about my looks. There are a lot of impressionable youngsters who follow us on the internet.”

She added that the pressure to look a certain way exists whether or not actors choose cosmetic enhancement:

“If we don’t do something about our looks, then it is a problem and people will judge you for your looks, and if we do something for ourselves, feeding your insecurities, then also people have a problem.”

Stating that beauty matters in her profession, Khushi said:

“Also, I was not born like this and all actors groom themselves, and of course, vanity is a large part of our life! I care about my looks, but haven’t changed every single thing about my face.”

Reinforcing that the decision to undergo cosmetic procedures is personal and should be respected, Khushi said:

“I don’t think going under the knife for your looks is such a big deal.”

“People will judge you no matter what you do. To have peace of mind, one should own up to their decision and worry less about what people will say.”

Highlighting the reasons why people don’t come clean about having plastic surgery, Khushi Kapoor added:

“The main issue is that people are scared that they will get hate if they come out and admit it.

“People think that the term ‘plastic’ is the biggest insult you can give someone, but I don’t think it’s bad if someone gets work done and stuff like that.

“Getting work done and lying about it is unfair to younger girls who look up to you, because then they think, ‘Oh, I don’t look like that; why can’t I?’”
