"I was awestruck, starstruck. It was fantastic."

John Cena recalled his emotional meeting with Shah Rukh Khan at Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s wedding.

Thousands of A-list celebrities were at the grand wedding.

From Kim Kardashian to Salman Khan, stars from across the globe were in Mumbai for the celebrations.

WWE star and actor John Cena was also in attendance and he embraced Indian culture by donning a blue bandhgala kurta and white trousers.

He was also seen getting a pagdi put on his head, which was appreciated by his fans.

One viral moment featured John posing for a picture with Shah Rukh Khan.

Opening up about the meeting, John admitted that he was “awestruck and starstruck” by the Bollywood megastar.

Recalling the experience, he explained:

“It was just such an emotional moment to be able to shake a person’s hand that affects your life so drastically and tell them specifically what they did.

“He was amazing. He couldn’t have been more empathetic and kind and sharing.

“It really was wonderful. It was wonderful. I was awestruck, starstruck. It was fantastic.”

John went on to reveal how SRK impacted his life, detailing how his TED Talk motivated him to work hard.

He elaborated: “He (Shah Rukh) did a TED Talk that found me at the right time in my life, and his words were beyond inspirational to me.

“They helped orchestrate a change in my life.”

“And since that change, I’ve been able to recognise all the jackpots that I’ve been given, and been grateful and worked hard to make sure I don’t waste them.”

As well as the celebrities, another highlight of the Ambani wedding was the extensive array of food.

Sharing his experience of trying spicy Indian street food, John Cena said:

“The Ambani wedding had its fair share of cuisine, but they also did Indian food and Indian street food very well. The food was fantastic.

“I had a short stay, which means I would like to go back and try some Indian food. The level of spice was just enough for me, just enough to break a small sweat.

So, I can’t wait to try to test my spice meter when I come back.”

He added that he looks forward to returning to India soon.
