The Crown Prince of Bhangra, Jazzy B has reworked his 2004 hit Punjabi song ‘Dil Luteya’ for Bollywood’s upcoming film, Jawaani Jaaneman (2020).
Whether it is a club, party or a wedding Punjabi music is a must-have for every occasion.
The makers of Jawaani Jaaneman released the song titled ‘Gallan Kardi’ that is a throwback to the amazing song ‘Dil Luteya’ which continues to be played today.
The Canadian-Indian singer is back once again to lend his vocals to the new track alongside Jyotica Tangri.
Prem and Hardeep have provided the music while the additional lyrics were penned by Preet Harpal and Mumzy Stranger.
The revamped version provides a refreshing beat and begins with Jyotica Tangri vocals as she voices Alaya’s character.
The composition reaches its crescendo with Jazzy B’s renowned ‘Oho’ and kick-starts the action.
‘Gallan Kadri’ continues to bring in the rap by Mumzy Stranger who blends in perfectly with the vibe of the tune.
This rendition of the classic song by Jazzy B has multilayered beats and rhythms in comparison to the original which has a simpler melody.
‘Gallan Kardi’ certainly encapsulates a club-like feel that is matched with the visuals provided in the video.
In the video, we can see Saif Ali Khan, Tabu and Alaya rocking out to the song at a party.
The man himself, Jazzy B also makes an appearance in the video. For quite some time, Jazzy B kept a low profile.
However, it seems the prince of Bhangra is back with a bang.
There is no doubt this feel-good song perfectly mirrors the theme of the film. Jawaani Jaaneman follows the life of Saif Ali Khan who plays a playboy like character.
He receives the shock of his life when the daughter he never knew about turns up.
According to the Hindustan Times, Saif explained the story of the film. He said:
“This story is about a man accepting his age, his responsibility and his journey in life. I think the father is one of the most important people in our lives.
“A lot of people mess up being a father and create children that need therapy, that need friendship and that need all kinds of things to fix their problems because they are not ready to be responsible fathers.”
He continues to explain the concept behind his character. He said:
“In the film, my character is not ready. He thinks that (having) a family is not cool and the solo life is the way to go.
“My character believes that family makes a man a ‘chomu’. He means that after marriage, we (men) become slaves of our wives and children and that changes the vibe.
“So, my character celebrates ‘jawaani’ (youth). ‘Jawaani’ is his ‘jaaneman’ (darling). He is a bachelor and he is scared of the concept of family.”
‘Gallan Kardi’ is a salute to simply feeling good and enjoying life. Saif, Tabu and Alaya look stunning in the video.
We are sure this rendition of Jazzy B’s hit song will certainly win the hearts of millions.
Jawaani Jaaneman is set to hit the big screen on January 31, 2020.
