The film boasts a remarkable ensemble cast.

The makers of Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2 have comfirmed that the film’s Hindi version will be released in theatres on October 15, 2026, as originally planned.

The clarification came after reports suggested that the dubbed Hindi version might not receive a wide release in national multiplex chains across India.

The film’s North India public relations representatives addressed the growing confusion and concern surrounding the Hindi release.

The statement read: “In light of recent media reports suggesting that Jailer 2 will not be releasing in Hindi…

“We would like to officially clarify that the film’s Hindi version is scheduled for a theatrical release on Thursday, 15th October 2026, alongside its other language versions, as originally planned.”

The representatives confirmed that Pen Marudhar Entertainment would handle the film’s distribution across North India.

The makers and their representatives also urged media outlets and platforms not to circulate unverified information about the release.

Jailer 2 is directed by Nelson Dilipkumar and is set to release worldwide on October 15, five days ahead of the Dussehra festivities.

The film boasts a remarkable ensemble cast that brings together some of the most celebrated names from both South Indian and Bollywood cinema.

Alongside Rajinikanth, the film features Mohanlal, Shiva Rajkumar, Jackie Shroff, Mithun Chakraborty and Vidya Balan in significant roles.

Hrithik Roshan is also reported to make a cameo appearance in the film, adding another high-profile name to the already star-studded lineup.

The uncertainty around the Hindi release had stemmed from reports about Sun Pictures’ OTT deal for the sequel and the streaming window attached to it.

Reports suggested the agreement required all language versions to arrive on streaming within four weeks of the theatrical release across the board.

While such a window is standard for Tamil films, Hindi film exhibitors and streaming platforms typically prefer a gap of at least eight weeks between premieres.

The prospect of a short OTT window had raised concerns among multiplex chains, potentially affecting the Hindi version’s chances of a wide national theatrical rollout.

Several pan-India Tamil films have adopted staggered digital release strategies in recent years to navigate this tension between different market expectations.

In such cases, original Tamil versions typically arrive on streaming after four weeks, while Hindi dubbed versions follow four weeks later.

Reports had suggested that all language versions of Jailer 2 were planned to arrive on streaming in November 2026.

The first film Jailer, released in 2023, demonstrated just how dominant the Tamil version is in driving the franchise’s box office performance.

It collected Rs 268.87 crore at the domestic box office from its Tamil version, while the Telugu dubbed version added Rs 68.06 crore.

The Hindi version of the original collected Rs 7.24 crore, a figure that highlights the challenge of cracking the North Indian market.

The sequel has already reportedly collected more than Rs 22 crore worldwide across its other language versions.
