"I will be the first person to talk about it"
Rakul Preet Singh has responded to rumours that she will be getting married to her boyfriend Jackky Bhagnani.
Their relationship was confirmed in October 2021.
But what followed were rumours that the couple would be getting married sometime in 2022.
On October 10, 2021, which marked Rakul’s 31st birthday, the couple confirmed their relationship.
In an Instagram post, Jackky said:
“Without you, days don’t seem like days. Without you, eating the most delicious food is no fun. Sending birthday wishes to the most beautiful soul who means the world to me!
“May your day be as sunny as your smile, and as beautiful as you are.
“Happy Birthday my love Rakul Preet Singh.”
Rakul responded with several heart emojis. She reshared the post and wrote:
“Thank you my love! You have been my biggest gift this year!
“Thank you for adding colour to my life, thank you for making me laugh nonstop, thank you for being you!
“Here’s to making more memories together.”
This led to rumours that they will get married sometime in 2022.
Rakul has now responded to the ongoing speculation, stating that when the wedding actually happens, she will be the first person to talk about it.
On whether the speculation annoys her, Rakul said:
“Be it marriage or any other rumours about nonsense that doesn’t exist, especially don’t bother me at all.
“I have learned to keep my blinders on and keep working.
“I have been transparent in my life and as and when that step has to happen, I will be the first person to talk about it, like I did this time too.
“I only feel people shouldn’t speculate and wait for the truth to come out.”
“Right now my focus is on my work and the 10 films that I have and the other work that is coming in. Everything else will happen when it is due.”
On the work front, Rakul Preet Singh has a number of films that are expected to release in 2022.
Some of her films include Runway 34, Doctor G and Thank God.
The second half of 2022 will see Rakul star in Chhatriwali as well as a film opposite Akshay Kumar titled Mission Cinderella.
She also has the Tamil film, Indian 2, however, the film remains delayed.
